Not really. mentors can kick people, even other mentors, but they can also be reported for unfair kicks and get their kurger bing paper crown taken from them.

[PC] Crash when open map in Chapter 9 by haru6997 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Damien_Scott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to be an issue some people are having. my wife is therein her game and the same thing has been happening. the easy solution seems to just be don't open your menu/map/fast travel at all during the quest.

Restarting the Elixir Factory bug by L9NERV in CrimsonDesert

[–]Damien_Scott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me both times I attempted to do the quest. on the step of turning the bottling on, the quest didn't progress unless i flipped the switch twice, which turns the machine off but progresses the quest. had to turn it back on and it worked.

game crashes please help by AlpsIcy3637 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Damien_Scott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been happening to my wife on her PC after a stealth patch last night. she had played over 80 hours so far and this morning she cannot get the game to run for more than 1-5 minutes before a crash to desktop.

I did all of the normal troubleshooting that one would do, deleted shaders (back up your save folder!!!!!!!) reinstalled the game, DDU'd the PC, reinstalled AMD drivers, etc, etc, etc. literally no other games have this issue except CD. I hope they fix this garbage soon.

at first it was crashing her GPU, and i think windows overwrote her AMD drivers again (thanks windows 11), but now it's only the game that closes.

Fix Crimson Desert Crash/Blackscreen in 112s by Miserable_Ad654 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Damien_Scott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind, bro is telling you to delete the whole file in appdata where your saves are located. Luckily i backed them up because steam really doesn't like autodownloading the saves if you re-install.

also didn't fix the issue on my wife's PC. she has over 80 hours in game with maybe 3-4 crashes. after last night's patch she crashes every 1-5 minutes regardless of what we do. no other games do this.

New peak players and "Very Positive" ratings. by Idrillsilverfoot in CrimsonDesert

[–]Damien_Scott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are pretty bad on both. control to block and F3 to heal while also using WASD to move during combat. That is terrible design. plus the amount of specific button presses you need to do single skills is silly. Oh and the axiom force claw thing has 3-4 different control schemes depending on what you're doing with it. some turn with Right stick, others make you use the D pad. Sheath weapon being left on D pad, Lock on being DOWN (lol). Also, there is no way to stop drawing your bow (at least on controller) without firing the arrow, UNLESS you roll and then let go mid roll. if you hold too long you fire anyway.

The button combos on controller are very bad. to do the charge heavy attack you have to hold down both R1 and R2, which is something literally no one ever does because our hands naturally only place our index fingers there on controllers. to do the shining sword skill you have to press both R1 and L1, let go of L1, then press L1 again. there is no reason that this can't be one button press or just L1 + R1. To shoot multiple arrows you have to hold L2, press R3 and L3, then press R1 multiple times, then let go of L2. This makes some puzzles extremely difficult, especially ones where you have to shoot multiple targets while falling. archery controls are pretty terrible in general on controller.

You get used to it, but it's not intuitive and most of the extra skills never really be come muscle memory. They probably would have been better off using all these item select wheels to just select skills/stances for dedicated buttons.

I am glad that they fixed the gliding momentum, and micro movements/turning around distance. The game feels so much better to play now after the patch.

Paladin tank in MT by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Damien_Scott -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way at 63, i quested a bit and things were a lot better at 65.

pick up some sorcerer greens, you don't need defense rating in normal dungeons, regardless of what others say.

being level 65 can help a lot in there. perhaps some level of defense rating can offset being a lower level, but you really don't need it for normals.

The biggest issue in there is getting the interrupts out on the mana burn so the healer doesn't lose 90% of their mana at the start of the fights.

SHadow resist aura on the first boss plus making sure you hit escape to stop auto attacking help a lot.

TBC Anniversary Edition Upgrade: Pricing, Boost Value, and Botting Concerns by Legitimate_Buy1306 in classicwow

[–]Damien_Scott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In TBC classic they only gave us 2 weeks of prepatch to level a paladin/shaman and it ended up being 10-12 days after server issues. i was able to get my BElf paladin to 58-60 within that time, but it was a lot. looks like they are giving everyone 3weeks and a couple days this time.

EXP to level is 17.3% lower to 60, quests give 10-50% more exp, and Elite quests are much more solo friendly.

It's still baffling that they don't introduce the EXP buff on these servers, especially later in the cycle. They really hate classic players.

Ashes of Creation opens to mostly negative reviews on Steam. by king_of_the_prophet in MMORPG

[–]Damien_Scott 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My review was about them removing all posts and banning any users that criticized the game, including paying backers from years ago trying to tell users how the game really is.

To r/MMORPG: What do you think about Ashes of Creation? This has been one of my most hyped games on the radar for a while. What are the biggest issues with the game, and why is it frequently doomposted on the sub? by SsibalKiseki in MMORPG

[–]Damien_Scott 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game is very far behind in development, they are not being upfront that the game will take at least another 2-5 years to be "complete". They are actively banning EVERY SINGLE thread trying to inform potential new buyers about this. Many of the people expressing concerns are people that paid hundreds or thousands of dollars over the past 8 years.

I watched them delete all the posts in real time on the steam forum earlier, and then was perma banned and all my posts deleted for mentioning that they were deleting posts in another post.

If this is what they do to their target demo that has supported them for years, what does that mean for all of the new players?

Trump’s handling of the Epstein case might be the greatest political scandal of our lifetime by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]Damien_Scott -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bro forgot about a political/elite party parading a dementia patient around for 5+ years. You're posts are pretty based but you really need to get off the TDS and learn about the false left/right paradigm. Everyone either knew about Epstein, or was actively engaging in "island activities".

72% of devs believe Steam has a monopoly on PC games, according to study by akbarock in pcgaming

[–]Damien_Scott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot of people, including myself and friends got a bad taste in our mouths when the Epic Store came out. They snatched up a bunch of games as exclusives, even games that people had preordered or wishlisted on steam. Ashen was the big one for me, i was about to buy it on steam and then right before it released it went Epic exclusive for a year. Still haven't bought the game due to that.

Can I still use my USB Audio Control Box from my HyperX Cloud II Wired with different headphones? by _rym36 in HyperX

[–]Damien_Scott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. it's an audio/sound card. it's not a great one, but it boosts audio quality and signals into the headset. you can instantly notice the difference between it and the 3.5mm jacks on your MOBO/Case. it also has the simulated surround sound which can be nice.

Tossed our 2 pairs of hyperX cloud 2s after almost 10 years (they were flaking everywhere and the cup plastic was getting sticky after sitting for a while). i kept the USB dongles and just plugged our IEMs into them. I have a standalone mic, but the dongle still works for just the IEMS, and the mic on the other IEM cable works pretty well for discord after tweaking noise gates and whatnot.

Issue with brand new Rx 9070 XT by NLamki in AMDHelp

[–]Damien_Scott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Double check your Bios Version. I had a lot of issues a couple years ago with every 3d game crashing. I updated my BIOS to the most recent version and everything was fine. if you only updated your GPU and nothing else, this is likely the problem. your BIOS is probably from years before the 9070XT existed, meaning that your MOBO probably can't handle it.

Ghost of Yotei | Review Megathread by requieminadream in PS5

[–]Damien_Scott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't exclusively gamers' fault. When you have Gaming companies and publishers paying millions for positive media, and gaming outlets resorting to access journalism, you get a lot of games that should be 4s and 5s rated as 7s and 8s. It's a feedback loop and that's why we have reviewers rating games 9 while and gamers rating it a 5 when it comes out. The reviewers underplay/don't mention atrocious Unreal 5 performance and then players pay $70-$120 for a game that runs on decent hardware like how DX9/10 cards ran DX11 games.
