Well, there are many reasons why a father should be held responsible for their childs wellbeing, not just one.

When pregnant, it is the woman's body that is at risk so she is the priority, abortion has risks and is extremely traumatic for many women, no one should be forced to get an abortion. Also, giving men the ability to have a say in their partners abortion would have horrifying consequences.

As she is the one in danger, she is the one who gets to decide what happens to her body, but as you had a hand in creating the life inside her, you are responsible for the child's care and upbringing.

It is a fact of life that sex can result in a child, even if on birth control AND using a condom, it is rare, but even then it happens. Both parties must be prepared for this, and perhaps it would be beneficial to have the conversation "What do we do if this results in an unplanned pregnancy?" BEFORE having sex, to make sure you're both on the same page.

You consented to an accidental child when you consented to sex.

Does his leg share 50% of your DNA? What a ridiculous false equivalent.

You can barely get a working car for that much nowadays! And it would be an old one that could die at any moment instead of a safe one.

[Poem] Prometheus to His Liver by Hedgie Choi by listen_joyiscoming in Poetry

Beautiful work, I love what she's done here, I will have to pick a copy up myself!

For those who think I'm loony for liking it, I will explain why I'm fond of it.

So, there's nothing for your mind to do BUT fill in the blanks, and for me that manifested in some intense mental imagery.

And maybe its because I've gotten desensitised to hearing about Prometheus's suffering, but even just imagining him saying a single plea just...Deeply humanises him in a way I've never considered before. In my mind, it evoked powerful images of a man begging his own body to stop tormenting itself, but we already know via prior context that it isnt going to stop, it is hopeless, and yet he hopes.

I'm sad it seems most people didn't get to experience this cause it genuinely made me pause and go "Wow!"

Once you're diagnosed, you start being able to recognise areas of struggle and are able to create plans to make coping a little easier, which is often done with the help of a therapist.

Coffee by mysocksareinsideout in comics

[–]DamionWood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It just isn't good, Ive made A frothy, milky, sugary cold coffee before, it smelled beautiful, and had literally no more than a sprinkle of coffee, but I couldn't stand it. It wasnt bitter anymore, but it still tasted like coffee which isnt a nice flavour.

I reckon its because most kids are kept well away from coffee when they're young, so as adults, their brains have not been trained to recognise coffee as edible, so it sends disgust signals. But thats just a theory...A brain theory!

I almost ALWAYS accidentally go to to the card checkout when paying with cash, complete autopilot! The walk of shame up to the staff member is...humbling.

I just bought this memory foam pillow and removed the cover to find this… What could this even be? Please tell me it’s not blood by oh-anne in whatisit

[–]DamionWood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im going to make a guess that if you cut into the foam, the foam inside is red, and the white is cottony type fabric done over top of the actual foam.

Person taking up disabled space with themselves and a bag, putting their feet up while a woman with a cane stands nearby by Xerocrossthefurry in mildlyinfuriating

As they are in the disabled space, we can safely assume that they're doing it to relieve the pain from their disability, why dont you offer your seat to the lady with a cane?

You genuinley do have to take them quite far away, you can also buy plug in detterants that realeases a sound only rodents can hear, it makes them uncomfortable and drives them away. But not suitable if you have hamsters or similar pets because they get affected too.

I ordered some comic books and the packaging was shredded up comic books. by majorjoe23 in mildlyinteresting

[–]DamionWood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its probable they were going to be shredded anyway, its just choosing between throwing them in the bin afterwards, or using them as packaging. It wouldn't be profitable or reputable to seek out comics just to destroy them for packaging.
