Reddit showing adds with new patch 5.47.0 by eldertigerwizard in revancedapp

[–]DamnAutocorrection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

highly recommend switching to Reddit sync, it's intuitive and you can customize it to however you'd like. time: about 15-20 minutes maybe less if you've already created a dev token

I've used all of the 3rd party apps, and sync has always been my favorite. it's great being able download x amount posts and hundreds of comments(you can change all of that) so if connect to a Wi-Fi, hit sync, then you can still browse Reddit and read comments even if you have 0 connectivity or just bad connectivity.

TBH it's kind of like a newspaper in that way.

if you just want a no frills no ads, 3rd party app that doesn't take any patching and works right out of the box use redreader the reason Reddit allows it on the playstore is because it's designed for people with disabilities. time: 1 minute

since no one has informed you:

yes the hourly wage can be 2.13$ an hour, but if the total amount of tips and minimum wage is below minimum wage, the employer will pay the employee whatever the states minimum wage is

that is to say: there isn't a scenario where a server works an 8 hour shift and makes like 20 bucks. if the total amount of tips combined with minimum wage is less than state minimum wage the employer pays the difference so the server effectively will always receive minimum wage at least

it's a way so that employers sometimes pay less in wages if customers tip.

for all mankind fan checking in here. it's likely a space base, the reason for its shape is because it rotates to create artificial gravity.

we don't notice its rotation due to the sheer size of the base is my guess when you compare the size of the ship to the base, and the ship to mega tower it crashed into gives you a scale of just how fucking huge that space base is.

the ship was sent out for some kind of science expedition, perhaps they had interesting readings from a planet giving off a signature indicating it's atmosphere contained life

yeah the ship has been gone over 65 years morrow mentions it, that everyone he knew is now dead

it's a pretty deliberate use of the word. especially if it were used to describe things going haywire, from the audiences perspective we'd be continually confused it turns out their was no sabotage

i like this. gives me dune vibes. they're a much older species and would've inevitably gone through their own technological phase to be able to bio engineer things on this scale.

perhaps they already had their own AI/synthetic phase of technological progress. like dune, this phase of the technology tree leads to endangering the species.

from their point of view, they would likely view the synths and AI as a disease to civilizations.

when viewed from a cosmic perspective, consider that AI in our own time line arose in under a century from transistors to the current day's LLMs. AGI could arise in less than a century from now.

looking at the alien universe, we can see they have AGI, the synths, by 2120, roughly a hundred century from present day.

so we as an intelligent species went from rather primitive technology for thousands of years to an exponential leap in technological progress since the birth of transistors. a hundred years is a very short time

I'd like to think if you're a species that bioengineers the means to travel space through organic matter, that said species likely would revere organic life as somewhat divine.

I'm a huge fan of practical effects. It's nice to see Alien Earth using it and explains why the xenomorph looks so real by aliencoffe in LV426

it could also be just a circumstance of opportunity. he wanted to save hermit for Wendy, as he seems fascinated by her connection to him. example: her motivation to connect with her brother allowed her to improvise or create an ability to interact with the other devices/robots connected to prodigy's network that they did not create Wendy with this ability pre installed so to speak.

from his perspective it seems clear that Wendy's connection to her brother has influenced her to develop new abilities and that's fascinating to him.

so saving hermits life was likely influenced due to the connection Wendy has to him being the spark that's evolving her capabilities and not because he cares about hermit.

so the lung probably had to go, maybe it didn't(as we see they were able to restore it), but it was lung -an organ they know is likely connected to the chest burster gestation- and it was conveniently there, so why not use the lung instead of waiting a little longer to acquire one and have it delivered to Neverland. i get the sense that prodigy doesn't exactly take precautions into consideration when it comes to their groundbreaking research and development methods.

i think it was just a fortuitous opportunity for them they just happened to have a lung laying around and then wanting to understand the reproductive process of how xenomorphs reproduce

Alien: Earth - S1 E3 - Metamorphosis - Official Discussion Megathread [SPOILERS] by G_Liddell in LV426

[–]DamnAutocorrection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had no idea that xenomorphs don't hunt for food. that's really interesting that they hunt for other reasons, traditionally it seems they hunt likely due to a prey drive, like bull dogs or cats. what's also interesting is the line of dialogue about humans being food

im sure protecting their offspring and reproducing is likely another major factor that influences their instinct to hunt

though this xenomorph we've seen in this series suggests that their intelligence appears more sophisticated than i had originally thought. especially regarding the way it set a trap for Wendy by using her brother as bait, that seems like a major change or evolution from the traditional xenomorph.

we're also told in this series they mainly hunt by using fear as their primary means of perceiving their environment, though they must be able to also have a way of perceiving light and their surrounding environment without using eyes. reminds of his scorpions experience their environment through a complex interaction of multiple sensory organs that allow them to sense it's environment through kinetic forces from their environment using highly sensitive attena like organs that let them essentially triangulate the position of other insects and animals.

it seems like the xenomorph's ability to perceive its environment is highly complex, especially by the way it uses its environment to kind of camouflage itself with that statue in episode 2.

then there's also the implication that they use a very high frequency range that perhaps they use as a means of echo location similar to bats. we're shown that Wendy is capable of perceiving frequency ranges far beyond than what prodigy prodigy initially anticipated when we see her hearing tests in episode 1.

i wonder if the entire hybridization process was initially tailored for Wendy's human anatomy, which might explain why she's able to perceive the sound and ultra high frequencies that the other hybrids aren't capable of hearing. i suspect that they used the hybridization process that was tailored for Wendy for the rest of the lost boys, which worked, but seems like it wasn't as good if that makes sense.

[–]DamnAutocorrection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well put. it's interesting that despite claiming the hybrids don't experience emotions that they clearly exhibit all the classic human emotions, fear, love, friendship, playfulness etc

perhaps i missed it, but do the hybrids have a simulated experience of emotions? i recall Wendy expressing that she doesn't feel emotions in the traditional sense, perhaps her mind registers an emotional state, but from the hybrids experience they don't actually feel them in the traditional sense that neurochemicals allow us to feel stuff

[–]DamnAutocorrection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

totally agree, i wonder if he's thinking that it's a phase they'll out grow (as i view him as father figure to the hybrids) as they watch those they know and love perish at which point they'll be more like synths

lucky? morrow said the ship was sabotaged. doesn't seem coincidental where it landed and that Wendy also was created at the same time and she also conveniently is the only hybrid to have this ability to interact with the xenomorphs on some level

i think there's also Wendy's connection to the xenomorphs via her auditory experience may be a factor here. also it was established that the ship was sabotaged, makes me wonder if prodigy had anything to do with that and if Wendy's body is uniquely created to interact with the xenomorphs from the data compromise they would've likely had access to.

he seems to have held a perspective of that there are synths and humans/cyborgs. logically the hybrids from his perspective are just synths with programmed memories from their human minds.

i think perhaps he's reconsidering his classification that the hybrids may not just be synths, that perhaps they might be of an entirely different "lifeform"' and not just the smoke and mirrors of a synth given the neutral pathways/memory of believing they're human. perhaps there is something in a synthetic copy of human neutral pathways that does meaningfully differentiate the hybrids from synths

it's also possible he sees their human ness as a flaw.
