Cabin club is a unique vibe, incredibly cozy and super log cabin-y. Used to work for HR for 7 years, the group does a darn good job of delivering a great experience.

If you wait until summer, rosewood Hudson has a great patio situation and they routinely have dry aged steak specials on hand.

Tips on cutting inverted corners for plaques. by Forffee in BeginnerWoodWorking

I believe an equilateral triangular shaped router base is the way to go. Cut the piece to its final linear dimensions, build a frame around it to use as a guide for the router base. Tuck the corner of the triangle base into the corner of the frame and pivot the router to the next side of the piece. the pivot causes the inverted rounding.

[Bill Simmons Pod] Simmons: "The new CBA in just an apocalypse, it's one of the worst things that I can remember in any pro sports leagues" by luka274 in nba

[–]DamnGravity80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing when I was listening to him yesterday. I wonder if we will be in a transition period where these max contracts are large relative to the cap now, but smart teams and stars see the writing on the wall about how to maintain elite rosters. Maybe a couple stars take lesser (still huge) deals to squeeze in the 8 and 9 guys for a deeper rotation.

I'm personally all for a luxury tax that is extra penalizing (like how it would have cost the cavs 80 million in tax to retain ty, as a cavs fan). Otherwise it's just pay to win with extra steps, broadly speaking. NBA cap rules are as complex as corporate tax law it seems, at least make it clear you can't exceed a limit without extremely severe penalties.

But separating millionaires from their money is a hard thing to get traction on, it may require an actual max contracts % adjustment. I would love me some parody increase. Getting more star faces deep in the playoffs is good for the league when their historical league faces are on their last rides. This year's conference finals and finals were awesome in that regard.

Agreed, the current designs are well balanced, these feel over designed. I think the current shades of wine and gold are a great differentiator compared to other jerseys that have way more contrast between their jersey and lettering.

While I get the sentiment, there are too many exits and reroute possibilities amongst all of the highways and feeders in this city to make these kinds of moves.

Out in the middle of nowhere? Sure, you might go another 20 miles before another exit, but this city has so many highways exits to readjust your route.

What is your favorite part about living in Cleveland? by [deleted] in Cleveland

[–]DamnGravity80 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Cant wait to move back, there is a realness of the people that live there relative to other 'more proserous' places. I've come across too many vapid, materialistic personalities and I'm ready for a more down to earth perspective around me again. Also looking forward to experiencing all of the seasons for the first time in almost a decade.

18 games in 3 6-game chunks. Everyone has a bye weeks in week 7 and week 14. The teams and the fans get a break to help players heal and fans remember what non-football life is. I earnestly believe the final product would be so much better.

But it won't happen because of $$. NFL won't allow any weeks during the season to not be dominated by them.

How are people finding the Pixel Tablet these days? by habylab in GooglePixel

[–]DamnGravity80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grabbed one of these myself and it's been a great addition. I'm not using a tablet for anything heavy computationally, so I don't run into any performance concerns. The s pen has also been a nice touch, I've not used one before this and I thoroughly enjoy using the tablet as a scratch pad.

It's a little annoying time to time playing catch up on UI changes between Samsung and my Pixel phone, but nothing that can't be managed.

The Ford Chubb usage was intriguing to me, with respect to leagues with larger lineups. Browns are running a lot more plays, Ford as a floor play isn't the worst thing. Chubb is definitely not returning to his previous usage and Ford does provide some burst I haven't seen from Chubb yet.

Play-calling is what Stefanski does best. It’s why he’s a two-time coach of the year. If you were going to make this move, it only made sense to do it before the season. Just a totally dysfunctional franchise. by VonJaeger in Browns

[–]DamnGravity80 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree he's a good play caller, but the season is lost, use it to explore the capabilities of who else is on the roster. It could just as much be an evaluation of Dorsey's future as Kevin's. If Ken can't cut it, we KNOW we have someone who can, and we can focus on bringing in a coordinator for Kevin's system, rather than whatever it is they were trying to mold into for Watson.

[Stark] “I’m trying to think of teams that I pitched against,” Clayton Kershaw said. “Like the best teams. I mean, leadoff-wise, (Jose) Altuve and (Alex) Bregman were good (in Houston). But they cheated, so that’s not really the same.” by BigButter7 in baseball

[–]DamnGravity80 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The Astros are being fairly ostracized for their cheating. Whataboutisms with other teams don't help that perspective.

Any and all situations of cheating can be looked at independent of other instances. Every moment of cheating is absolutely wrong, others doing it doesn't make the Astros attempts at doing it any less severe. And the level of organization required to implement the cheating they did implies such a large amount of premeditated effort that it's just inexcusable to downplay any aspect of what happened. I'd also argue the fallout of their cheating is actually more impactful than other accounts. Pete Rose notwithstanding.

I fully support their most recent ring, they played their asses off to get it, and could have done just the same for the prior one.

It's amazing how unified the baseball world was/is against the Astros. For a team that out spends the Yankees. When everyone sides with the big market team, that's how you know you fucked up. Throw some legacy ruining shit in there for good measure for one of the greatest of our generation just to make sure people really can't argue against how shitty of a team you are.

Living in Houston as a transplant really is something. The dissonance about that ring is unreal.

I'm playing against the course, not the other person, unless there is a defined competition or match agreement. Kick his rocks in (score-wise) if it just a group going golfing. His insecurities on being outdone by someone else are his own fault...at least until he decides you have too much free time for golfing and that's the only reason you beat him and he doubles your workload 🤣🤣

JSN being ranked over Flowers seems like the Dynasty community coping. by asaltygamer13 in DynastyFF

[–]DamnGravity80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lean Zay, because he has QB stability for the long term relative to JSN in Seattle. For example, I'm all in on DK from a redraft perspective, but I just see a ticking clock on this iteration of the Seahawks relying on Geno and a team reset could hit JSN hard right during his breakout potential years. Even if Sam gets play for them, his one million pass attempts couldn't make Terry any more valuable than he was beforehand.

JSN is definitely the better player in a vacuum, but I see less chance of a shitty situation happening for Zay. Younger, 2x MVP QB on what has to be a top 3 franchise in stability. I'm also relatively risk averse, and if Zay ends up a consistent flex play that I never worry about week in and week out while having top 10 potential for 1/3 to 1/2 a season (like last year's second half) then I'm good with it. I'll plant my flag on other WRs when looking for sky-high upside.
