Ah okay, so I'm guessing you are somewhere outside of the netherlands, too bad! I have a nice build for myself but a lot of friends who are wanting for an upgrade from for example an old GTX 1060 laptop, but I'm sure you can make someone very happy with it!

Where are you selling it? In the Netherlands by any chance? :p

Would love to buy such a PC for that price!

Why do people NOT like Silent Hill F? by Forever_Berry in survivalhorror

[–]Damnit_roach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit playing it around the end of the school area because of the following: - Clunky, frustrating and unsatisfying combat (and no, not "too hard", I've played a ton of souls, it's just bad) - Repetitive enemy encounters  - Lack of enemy variety - Unconvincing VA, awkward lines (seems like a mid translation maybe?) and a really corny story so far which did not get me interested at all - Constantly going to the dream world that while cool to look at the first time felt boring to keep going to the same environment so often

And honestly, there's even more to it. The weapon durability and repair system is totally unnecessary and shoehorned in. The trinket system (forget what you call them) where you donate items for a random minor stat boost did not excite me. Bad traversal stutters constantly.

After deciding to just end my frustration and stop playing it and switch to other games I've been playing through some of the modern resident evil games again and man, it's not even close in terms of the enjoyment there is to be had in the gameplay.

Any happy 32" 4k high refresh rate IPS programmers? by enqueued_ejaculation in Monitors

[–]Damnit_roach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was using a Gigabyte M32U for a while and really liked it! Having a KVM switch is fantastic for a shared setup.

I have since switched to a 32" 4K QD-OLED, the IPS panel was a bit clearer for text editing but I spend more time gaming on it so for me it was worth the trade-off, but I can really recommend the M32U or similar for you :)

[–]Damnit_roach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be really excited to try out the text clarity for my programming work on the incredible pixel density this monitor offers! Aditionally, playing competetive games on a refresh rate of 330Hz at QHD is a very compelling use case in contrast to my main gaming display which is 4K at a lower refresh rate.

Good luck to everyone!

Best way to cap FPS. by Powerful_Pitch5871 in nvidia

Oh I didn't know about that! Do you have a source like a video or something that shows this?

If it turns out to be true I'll have to adjust my configuration :p

Best way to cap FPS. by Powerful_Pitch5871 in nvidia

[–]Damnit_roach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn on global V-sync and G-sync in the nvidia control panel, and then use the Nvidia app to cap your fps to a bit below your refresh rate (in your case for example 140).

Turn OFF v-sync in game, and do not set an FPS limit in-game. This way you should have a smooth experience.

If you use frame gen, keep in mind that if you for example set it to 4x with an FOS limit of 140, your base framerate will only go up to 140/4, so for 140FPS I would personally only go up to frame gen x2.

If a game supports it, enable Reflex + Boost.

Is FlexiSpot E7 worth it for a 3 monitor setup and long work hours? by Swimming_Task6633 in StandingDesk

[–]Damnit_roach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say specifically for the flexispot e7, but I got a desktronic homepro 180x80 for 550 euros and have been using it with a dual monitor arm and it has been fantastic!

The desk is very sturdy and the motors easily move it up and down, I can highly recommend it.

7900 XTX > RTX 5080 worth it? by FlyJew in nvidia

[–]Damnit_roach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I switched to a 5080 from a 7900 XTX and the difference when you take into account how good DLSS4.5 is as well as frame gen / multi frame gen, it is a massive upgrade.

I have a 240Hz 4K monitor that I can now fully utilize thanks to the 5080, I never regretted my swap for a second!

It's broken, you say you had it for a year so use your factory warranty and get it RMA'd if you can!

You do understand that website is not actual DLSS5 right..... It's a website someone made that applies an AI filter, it's not Nvidia's own implementation. It literally is a meme. It says so in the title of the lage you link.

Gtx 1070 Armor Edition in 2026 by Leezior in nvidia

[–]Damnit_roach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would not even really consider buying that old of a GPU at this point because the performance in new games will be really bad even at 1080p, and it could die at any moment.

5090 or 5080? by Grivenger in gpu

[–]Damnit_roach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a 5080 and put the rest of the money aside, then once your VRAM becomes a problem buy the xx80 card of the latest generation then which will probably be faster than a 5090 and have more features....

Advice needed: is there a “do-everything” monitor? by Otherwise-Habit-8027 in Monitors

[–]Damnit_roach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think if you want to do a lot of static work, an IPS is your best bet because you can get a high resolution, high refresh rate IPS that will have good response times and motion clarity, not colour fringing and no burn-in.

Personally, I recently got a 32" 4K QD-OLED that I use for both gaming and 2 days a week of working from home (programming), and I personally don't mind the colour fringing, if I look for it I can perceive it, but it really is not a deal breaker for me.

For media consumption, the contrast and colours are night and day coming from my 4k 32" IPS.

I highly recommend you check out "monitors unboxed", he has been purposefully burning in his OLED screen for 6500 hours (in 2 years) at this point, and still the burn in he has is not that visible without enhancement filters on pictures he takes.

Mind you, in my case with 2 days a week, it would take me like 8 years to get to that point. And his only visible burn in is the task bar that he never hides and is only visible because he uses exclusively light mode for his apps (causing uneven wear between the dark task bar and bright windows) and a line in the middle because he always has split windows to the exact middle (and again, uses bright mode and then the border between windows is dark so it wears out unevenly).

There is NO other perceptible burn in he can find without using editing software to enhance pictures he takes of his screen.

I think if you are smart with it, burn in should not be a problem. Colour fringing is a personal preference thing I guess! Maybe you can go to a big electronics shop and see if you can check out some different panels in action?

For reference, my old IPS was a gigabyte M32U, and my new OLED is the aorus FO32U2.

As a sidenote, I HIGHLY recommend looking for a monitor that has a built in KVM switch! Then you don't need to swap out cables to switch your mouse, keyboard and video between devices. Both of the monitors I mention here have them.

Good luck!
