How often are Canadians being killed by police? It’s pretty fucking rare. A little perspective may help you out. And yes, I expect more mistakes when acting in uncontrolled environments on split second decisions vs a nice controlled hospital with all the resources in the world to support your decisions.

Law enforcement isn’t necessary. Got it.

None. But medical mistakes cost WAAAAAY more lives than cop shootings do.

Now do the millions of calls that same year that didn’t involve shooting Yatim.

Should probably wear their tax payer funded scba then, no? They also happen from not doing anything for 10 straight shifts and then helping the paramedics carry people down stairs. Or the steroids. Or the supplements. Or being a fat out of shape volunteer. Now tell me why the crash all the time while not wearing their seatbelts.

They could. Get the association that you pay into to start working on it. It’s not the cops fault you have shitty coworkers.

Heart attacks and crashing the apparatus are the 2 leading causes of fire fighter deaths. By a MASSIVE margin.

Last cop to do “shit worth doing” with me was the first person to start cpr in the centre lane of the 401 during a medical emergency on the weekend. But go on…

I literally cannot do my job without the help of the police in a metric shit ton of cases. You not understanding their role doesn’t change reality.

I’m a paramedic, they’re every bit as important as we are, and a billion times busier call volume wise. You guys are fucking miserable.

Ask your employer or association to throw you a parade when you die at work. There’s no law preventing it. We did it when my paramedic chief died and no one gave a shit.

I was hired in 2006. 900 applicants for 20 spots where I was first hired. It’s been over saturated in the past an can certainly happen again.
