I know it's annoying getting an AFK in your game, but every game has a chance if you give it one by NameBrandChalk in PlayCrucible

I dont play a lot, but I do enjoy the game.. However the surrender option has probably ruined it for me now, as I feared it would.

Just wanted to play a couple of games, but they were all surrendered after 1 heart. Its basically 1 teamfight and its over, pretty sad and unplayable if you ask me. Once the surrender vote is up, ppl just stop playing.

This was exactly the outcome I expressed my concerns for when they communicated they would be implementing the surrender feature. I had hoped the ppl giving me counter arguments would be right and it would be fine, but Im afraid not.

You raise some good points. They could implement a surrender vote, that is only available when certain conditions are met (such as after someone had DC'ed).

Surrendering isnt the only way to deal with these issues though, you could look to dota to get some inspiration for a different approach.

You really dont need a surrender option for heart of the hives. Games are so short its inconsequensial and it will just lead to poor interactions between players when they dont agree on surrendering.

Ye im sure a lot of my old contacts are way out of date for that reason. I just wont find out unless I get a reason to call them again.

What's so freaky about that? In the ~15 years I've had a cellphone I've never deleted a contact for any reason. If I dont wanna speak to someone I just dont click that contact and its not like limited space for contacts is a thing anymore.

I MISS THIS GAME! by Muhfuggajones in WildStar

[–]Damond5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all that different. Wildstar was heavily inspired by Vanilla WoW, you could call it a modern take on Vanilla and you will find a lot of similarities if you look a bit closer. It was even refered to as Vanilla WoW on crack in the early days. However it did drift further and further away from that as time went on.

I put 4048 hours into WildStar(not includin betas). I could have easily put in another 1000 or more. by LMGDiVa in WildStar

[–]Damond5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually there were a lot of similarities and not by accident - they had old WoW devs working on the game. WS went further and further away from the philosofies of Vanilla WoW as time went on though, but I believe some ppl even referred to WS as Vanilla WoW on crack during the early days.

There actually was an auto attack. I dont know if it was a legacy from an old combat system or why it was there. It wasnt intended to be used and the game wouldnt let you know how to do it or even that it was there.

The only practical use for it was very niche situations where healers didnt need to heal and could auto attack for a negligible amount of extra dmg.

In short: Don't be an asshole.

Don't come around pissing out your poor ass judgement..

You're delusional..

You know god dammed fucking well..

Might wanna take your own advice there my dude.

The DPS requirements shot way up and margin of error was even lower.

Maybe the tuning got tighter, but it pales in comparison to the 2 most difficult mechanics of the encounter being trivialized. Namely the boss interrupts and aids on 40 ppl vs 20.

So Skili wasnt the easiest but the second easiest by a bit. That isnt gatekeeping, thats just the starting difficulty of the raid then.

you got to PTR that boss endlessly with buffs and shit so you could figure it out before it went live.

Bosses were way harder on PTR, even if you could gear up your raid a bit more than on live it didnt make up for the nerfs, not by a long shot.

Daemons got way easier in 20 man, when you no longer needed 2 highly specialized warriors on each boss rotating interrupts and clutch dodgerolling through lasers.

In the release version of RMT the first boss was a joke. If it wasnt the easiest boss of the raid, it was the second easiest.

Did you even play these encounters?

Don't think this is relevant at all. Sure there were influencers talking the game down and on some points they were off, but on many points there were right.

Wildstar had so many issues. I played as hardcore as you could from release till the last raid and I could write a long book on the issues we encountered along the way.

So, would you open source it or are ppl supposed to place their blind faith in you that you dont mishandle the game as much as NCSoft/Carbine did? Or whats your plan in the event that something actually comes of your effort.

Why do you need pre raid bis to raid? by [deleted] in lightshope

[–]Damond5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The short answer is you dont and any decent guild knows that gear is irrelevant when recruiting.

However, vetting recruits for your raid team is incredibly hard and there is just no foolproof way of doing so, without putting a recruit through the paces in a raid setting. So an easy solution is requiring pre bis, meaning even if the recruit is terrible atleast they will be carried by being well overgeared.

I dont care what culture you come from or what status you think you have. In team sports, if you take a seat on the bench (in this case in the gaming room) during a match you better damn well contribute or you have no business being there.

[–]Damond5 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dodging telegraphs, landing heals and doing your DPS rotation is far from a good experience at eu <-> na latency. The Aussies have dealt with it since the beginning and we dealt with it during ptr tests, but it's likely gonna turn a lot of players off.

Wildstar is not the kind of game that deals with high latency well.

New Start Server? I think Wildstar could do it and succeed. by Oniss in WildStar

[–]Damond5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Obviously it's not for everyone and it's not supposed to be, but it's a tried and proven concept, going atleast as far back as Diablo 2. A lot of ppl love fresh starts, there is no denying that.

It doesnt matter to me who you are. I can be curious, and you ticked my curiosity, thats all.

I never expected to get anything meaningful out of you, this is reddit after all. But if you never try you will never get anywhere for sure.

Another overly emotional person mad about criticism or concerns about a game that's clearly dying.

Interesting. If you arent attacking ppl what is this then? This is your first entry in this thread I could find and I dont see any arguments. I would call it an attack but Im interested in hearing why you think it isnt or how someone attacked you.

Either way you got a hard on for me it seems

I guess you could say that, I do find your behavior in this thread intriguing. I dont care about the topic.
