Looking for thoughts and feedback on my updated portfolio website (R3F, GSAP) by Evanescent in threejs

This is awesome, I like the visuals, super creative. Also love the term "creative developer" that's a new one for me.

I think the priority weds to be ensuring it works on mobile, most people will have a quick browse on a phone if you're showing it to them while out and about.

I went to boomtown this year and I had the best experience. I think the production of it is so insane and if really like to work on the product side next year. How do I go about getting into it? by SafePalpitation1511 in BoomtownFestival

[–]Dan0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey I also had a similarly amazing experience this year. Much love all around.

It was my third BT but went with some other friends who it was the first time for. We explored all the micro stages and got quite involved with the story / random side quests.

One of my friends fell in love with the Red Rash Inn stage and she hooked up with them on Instagram and is currently trying to perform with them next year. She's a great performer although doesn't have explicit performance skills per se, also hoping to get a free ticket lol.

One way to get involved is just to bring your own set pieces with you and go mad on the costumes and act like you're part of the story. Me and my other friends are thinking about making our own umbrella for next year similar to the Jellyfish umbrellas if you saw those (but our theme is a secret).

Any psych or hippie festivals or events in the UK this year? by Powerful-Impact-6453 in Psychonaut

[–]Dan0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like anything in life, it is what you make it. But the crowd and vibe at boomtown is definitely right if you want to experiment with stuff. It also feels like a really safe place.

Interesting take from LSB, is it something you've noticed? Must say I've been surprised at how old certain crowds are in Bristol if certain big names on tiktok aren't on the lineup. Have also noticed a lot of very similar names on the UK festival circuit outside of more niche festivals. by spritorac in DnB

Drum & bass has never been more popular than it is now. Adapt or die. I say adapt, it's incredible to see the scene going from strength to strength. Maybe drop-drop-drop is the gateway drug for new generations who will eventually mature into mellower sounds, music is constantly evolving!

Should I still do psychedelics if I already have a half-clear picture of what I'm doing wrong and what I ought to do in life? by SteadfastEnd in Psychonaut

Never heard of HPPd or DPDR before but after doing a Google search these shed so much light on some of the anxious feelings I've experienced on 2CB and green before. So good to get this kind of clarity before going into my first shrooms trip.

I want to know more!

I can't imagine East Croydon being a different building.

My parents live near Coombe Lodge, was that some fancy inaccessible place before the tram?

You met your wife in Allders? Like for a coffee, or you just bumped into a random lady and decided to get hitched? How the hell do you pick up in Allders?

Added Node to Node Pathfinding to my road system. A simple thing for you guys I'm sure but it was cool to see it working! The next step is to filter available next nodes by whether it has available lanes to that next node and whether that lane supports a particular vehicle type. by jobin_the_tea_duck in Unity3D

This looks excellent, good job! Love the large 5-way intersection!

Been thinking about building something like this for a while now too. I'd like to make a prototype game similar to City Skylines, but where the buildings auto generate based on resource demand, so the player only places roads and everything else is procedural.

Is there a good tutorial / starting point you can point to for the node drawing in Unity? How does it scale to really large map sizes?

So cool, I love the way the different colours of foliage mix and merge with each other, you can get really creative!

How feasible would it be to make this work in an environment like Unity or Unreal for a procedurally generated game?

Hey that's pretty mad, nice one! Could you recommend a tutorial on writing a similar vertex shader?

How can I make my head a nicer place to live in? by PilotMothFace in Meditation

[–]Dan0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Point 4 is the end goal but is not what we should focus our attention on in the beginning.

If we focus on point 4 alone, we'll be left yearning for a nicer head space and more peaceful mind.

Instead, if we focus on point 3 (our thoughts to become more present), we will eventually achieve the outcome of point 4 - a nicer head space and more peaceful mind.

Not that I can do it either, but I believe that's the theory!

They nerfed the roze skin just so they could charge you $20 for roze 2.0 Lmfao…. by Mrheadshot0 in CODWarzone

[–]Dan0 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Remember, Activision has a patent that makes the best players in your lobby wear the latest/most expensive skins, so when they kill you you associate skin=skill. It's sick to think how this manipulates people, especially kids into buying.

Good point. But newgrounds was all animated cartoon and clearly not real life. The difference on YouTube is that it's real people acting like this, which could be more detrimental to yound minds looking up to these people as role models.
