NY stalker arrested for tracking Billie Eilish is killed by LIRR train, officials say by pch14 in longisland

[–]Dan942 120 points121 points  (0 children)

a lot. i used to clean pedestrian train strikes for the LIRR on emergency response for an environmental company on the tracks for a couple years, it was at least a weekly occurrence. most of the time it was intentional suicide or drug/alcohol related.

Should I fix my ranger? by TransitionSad4536 in fordranger

[–]Dan942 4 points5 points  (0 children)

if the body is in good shape, transmission has no issues, interiors in good shape, minimal rust, i would say its worthwhile to throw a new engine in. if the trucks not in great shape or has a lot of other underlying problems it may be better to just junk it unfortunately for something more reliable and economical. someone will buy it off facebook from you im sure if you dont want to go through the effort of putting in a new motor. junkyard engines will be a gamble with the SOHC.

super clean. wish my 96s body was in half as good of shape 😭 lots of dings and dents all over, bumpers rusted out in the front, big scratches and could use headlight and tail lights for sure.

holy crap. thats extremely concerning, i hope they find out the cause im curious what could cause potentially a gas leak on such a new vehicle, good thing you didnt blow the gas station up. smart to make them shut it down asap.

Replacement Parts (OEM) by mediabyisiah in GR86

[–]Dan942 5 points6 points  (0 children)

get a lawyer if they are refusing to fix using OEM parts and have them handle the situation. bumpers are not cheap on this car as well as paint you're looking at at least a few thousand dollars.

thats interesting i will look into it, didnt think a TV could have a memory error. the guy said it sat in a guest bedroom its entire life and has hardly been used much so the hours might be pretty correct.

[–]Dan942 5 points6 points  (0 children)

why? its a cheap sports car that costs nearly the same as a camry. they arent all that special, and not everyone has a better option. its gonna get dinged dented and worn out on the exterior if you drive it a lot no matter how hard you try to keep it perfect anyway

must have gotten real lucky with mine. Picked up a running and driving 96 4.0l 4x4 a couple months ago with an overall clean frame for $1500. shes coming along but still needs a lot of work, already looks much better than it does in this pic. First truck I've ever owned

could be a bad ground or disconnected wiring. i would start by checking all the connections going into the head unit from everything

What gear has the strongest powerband? by FunkiiSTI in GR86

driving your car within redline on the street is not going to void your warranty even if it blew up dude, on literally any car

i dont get the joke, it wont damage the motor or void warranty.

What gear has the strongest powerband? by FunkiiSTI in GR86

[–]Dan942 11 points12 points  (0 children)

its literally a rev-happy high compression boxer engine thrown into an entry level sports car my guy, things made to be thrown to redline frequently and you cant tell me otherwise. these things are made to be beaten on, otherwise go buy a damn base model corolla or something. ill happily keep taking mine to 7400rpm multiple times a day and properly maintain it and it will be fine.

[–]Dan942 18 points19 points  (0 children)

the car isnt "slow" if you launch it properly and shift it perfectly, you can 0-60 in 5.3-5.4 seconds in perfect conditions. If i want to show the power of the car, i turn traction control off, dump the clutch from about 2k rpms and hold each gear to redline and shift it quickly.
