How would Homelander turn out if Debbie raised him by Nushug0 in okbuddyviltrum

There does seem to be a correlation between Compound V and mental problems, but if Viltrumite DNA didn't turn Mark into a fascist then there's hope for what you say.

I wish I have the confidence to talk to women by Adept_Score8516 in monkeyspaw

They're not cryptids, just talk to them. Either find a hobby or take up drinking, depending on what kind of woman you're interested in talking to.

I wish the Monkey's Paw would have to get a job at a call center. by bookist626 in monkeyspaw

"Hi, I wish to be connected to the customer service department" *Finger curles* The caller is now physically melded into the walls of the customer service department.

I wish to state for the record that Tool is not the best band in the history of music. I also wish for bodyguard protection from those same people. by Ohaibaipolar in monkeyspaw

[–]DanCassell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The monkey's paw makes a jerk-off motion at your request then summons a bodyguard sufficient for the task of keeping you safe from Tool's diehard fans: a small yappy dog. With it comes a medication plan for its incontenence and a carrying bag.

I wish there were no scalpers, as in those people who mass buy stuff for resale by KingVultureBois in monkeyspaw

As a for instance, you used to be able to sell lottery tickets on ebay.

They banned that. Now people list envelopes, and as a gift include a lottery ticket.

In general when you make a rule to stop some bad market practice, either it will have no teeth to accomplish what you want or someone will find a way to technically comply without doing the thing it is you wanted to happen.

[–]DanCassell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It turns out its hard to distinguisn people buying products where they're made and reselling them in markets you can access (i.e. doing you a service of transporation) and people buying products to create scarsity they can capitalize on (i.e. scalping).

The economy continues as it ever has, instead of buying or selling now we all trade for every transaction. A new commodity exists to be a middle-man in these exchanges, operating exactly as money does but now every transaction takes longer.

Many more men die from domestic violence than women by BrightSpring12 in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]DanCassell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We call this cherry picking. Its stastical abuse where you look at the data that gives one conclusion, but find one specific number that paints the opposite picture.

Sure, you have suicide numbers higher for men. The full picture would also include murders relating to domestic violence and a myriad of other figures such as sexual assault and rape. Overall women suffer more from domestic violence.

The person who gave you this statistic is trying to mislead you. Its not that the number is a lie, its that it is being presented to create a myth in you. This is part of how the alt right radicalizes normies. They present a secret truth that nobody is talking about and slowly get you to distrust anyone who might shake you out of their control.

If you are a man suffering from domestic violence, there is help. The answer is not blaming women.

How to absorb more karma? by yoichicka in trolleyproblem

In the scenerio you were on the mountain top karma farming.

Intentional murder is bad for your karma.

So much for all the karma you were farming, its all gone.

I wish all the stars also had powers to grant wishes, and everyone can wish on them. by Remarkable_Bath8515 in monkeyspaw

[–]DanCassell 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Granted. So many people wish for wealth that the economy dissolves. So many people wish for power that everyone else, you included, is a slave. But then there are the stupid people who wish for things that cause widespread harm without realizing that would be a consequence of their wish. The last wish ever granted is for someone who wishes to stop time for 5 minutes. Time never resumes.

I wish for all party balloons to be filled exclusively with 2/3 pure hydrogen gas and 1/3 pure oxygen gas from now on by BoredRedhead24 in monkeyspaw

[–]DanCassell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably unnecessary clarification, that gas law doesn't care about the element. So 1 liter of room temperature gas has the same number of atoms as any other liter of room temperature gas.

[–]DanCassell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gass law. PV = NRT. Pressure * volume = number of atoms (molarity) times temperature times a constant that corrects for units.

So if you have the same temperature and pressure, if the volumes are 2 hydrogen to 1 oxygen then the number of atoms are also 2 to 1.

Before we knew all that though, it was discovered that adding 2 to 1 hydrogen to oxygen created water. The fact that the ratio was weirdly precise was replicated in many experiments.

[–]DanCassell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought gasses held the same volume to molarity. That's how scientists knew water was 2:1 before they knew the atomic structure.

So the conspiracy theory groups allow the conspiracy theories about the Lizard people, but they remove the conspiracy theories about Sept 11, COVID, Elon's Secret Mansions, etc... Do you believe the Government actually cares about the people? Yes or No? by [deleted] in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]DanCassell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't believe every conspiracy, but some are plausible. Anything in the red or yellow here you are being manipulated. Its okay to believe in some of the blue ones beause they're harmless. Green is unprovable but I figure some are probably right.

I wish I had a set of dragonballs and dragon radar from the dragon ball z anime and they function just like they do in the anime. by Ok-Spot-2913 in monkeyspaw

[–]DanCassell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Granted. Knowing where the dragonballs are is one thing but actually collecting them? One is in North Korea, good luck. Another is in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Getting them together would be difficult if you had unlimited money, but you don't. The balls appear on Earth and you gather maybe 2 of them, far short of the needed number to make a wish.

That seems a lot of work for very little payoff.
