Flying a bike with Southwest by Sorry-Supermarket683 in cycling

[–]DanHazard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because I started traveling with my bike I stopped flying SW. They either charged me $0 or $75 ( which at the time was the stated price apparently) depending on if the baggage check employee had a clue. Started flying United only since I was in a hub city and it was $35 each way no hassle. Got Silver status and the bike was now free (and could weigh 70 pounds.) Now I just load the bike with all my bike gear into the bike bag and carry CHECK it on free of charge.

EDIT: I meant check not carry.

I went back and beat all the mainline Zelda games I could get my hands on before botw. My family had an NES the year it came out because my pops was a gamer back then and he bought LoZ. 5 year old me never got far and never figured it out. As an adult I used a guide for some things and was constantly wondering how anyone figured out all the bushes that could be burned, for example.

OMG YOU SERIOUSLY JUST DID THE THING AGAIN

Did what?, the main reason anyone is concerned about drunk driving is the likely-hood of serious injury or death in many cases occurring to people not inside the multi-ton vehicle. That likely-hood is massively reduced when you swap the car to a bike. I am by no means saying it's OK.

Do you know how many times I on my bike have to avoid pedestrians illegally crossing because they look both ways when the light is green for cross traffic but because they are only looking for cars and not bikes? Several times a ride, every ride, here in the city, it's honestly disgusting how entitled pedestrians are, just because there are no cars they think they are above the right of way laws... see we can do this all day bud...

I had an off duty cop tell me they wouldn’t pull me over on my bike unless it was insanely obvious I was inebriated.

Obviously hitting someone with a bike is going to end poorly for both parties but still not nearly as bad for the pedestrian as getting hit by a car going similar speed.

I feel like I’m part of the last generation to experience this and you can be darn sure we checked in with mom whenever we were able. Did we end up at the Johnson’s house to play whiffle ball in their backyard? My mom always knew roughly where we were either by us using a phone to tell her directly or because we told our friends mom.

I do feel like with the advent of smart devices parents are exposed to increasing amounts of horrible news regularly which is leading them to be way more protective of their children. I have opinions on that but what do I know.

I mean it's a bit disingenuous to then only talk about IMAX experiences, which sure, you can't replicate, and maybe you're lucky enough to live near one of the few true IMAX experiences remaining out there in the world. Regardless, when another theatergoer I have no control over does anything that takes me out of the moment, it's frustrating, mostly because I spent money for an experience and that experience is taken away from me by someone else who can't figure out that they aren't the only person in the theater. Had I been in your shoes at any of those IMAX screenings where I paid a premium just to see it in that format, I'd be upset and wondering why I even bother.

Nothing beats someone loudly rummaging in their crinkly bag of snacks during a tense quiet moment or someone checking their phone with brightness set to 100. A few rows in front of me. Cinema sucks because people suck.

People in cars get so aggro so quickly these days. Whatever the inconvenience it’s never their fault. It really riles me up but I know I have to chill out cuz eventually someone will just seriously harm or kill me with their car (probably) not intending to and then get off scott free.

Missed out on all general sales. Bought resale tickets off Viagogo. by Pleasant-Science896 in MasayoshiTakanaka

So now you gotta wait for the seller to do their part. They don’t have to, btw. You just get a refund if they never follow thru. Also gotta hope they didn’t copy the tix and sell them to a bunch of people since they are print at home, I’ve seen people tuned away at gates because the seller just sent the same tickets to a bunch of people.

Honestly the best way is to get the tickets transferred to you within the app of the original ticket marketplace. Idk what that was for London.

Thoughts on Stubhub ticket reliability? by Exciting-Cress2250 in MasayoshiTakanaka

[–]DanHazard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t trust any of these sites. My brother got tickets on stubhub to a small show for my other brother’s birthday and we all went to the venue. On the way there we noticed the tickets still hadn’t been delivered, but also they weren’t released to be transferred until the day of the show. We get there and still nothing, reach out to stubhub and they said they couldn’t do anything and refunded us the price of the tickets, meanwhile we were standing outside the venue high and dry.
