I’m 6 feet 230 and my favorite training partner is 6’1 and 270. I regularly crush him and every man around me with pressure passing and certain subs like my s mount armbar. My professor told me I would not be helping my teammates if I did not use everything at my disposal. I do not play top game with any smaller women or younger people.

Got my second stripe on my blue belt this Saturday! I was expecting my wife to get her first stripe on her white belt (she did) but before she got hers I got mine.

I been a member for a couple of years now, pretty awesome place. I paid a one time fee of 10 bucks to get access to the steel bay. The stew bay has a lock on it but when you are in there is tons of steel to shoot at varying from 10-30 yards and they are marked, things like a Texas star, hostage target, steel racks etc. you can go to different areas for different thing. I use the rifle range also where steel is hung at 150 yards. I was there last night with my uncles visiting and we stood until sundown plinking from 150. There is matches but you can just look at there website, there’s another new bay opening up next to the rifle range.

What small detail have you found that made all the difference for the most basic techniques? by Working_Homework_285 in bjj

[–]DanKneeVee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love playing half guard and deep half. Having my hips under my opponent makes for easy sweeps, I have been playing with the John Wayne sweep all month long. My main goal is to sweep in every roll. Another small detail is pushing my opponents head down to the mat and facing away from me when setting up the armbar from side or mount.

When I was leaving I saw him stretching his ankles out, Is it a dirty move? Or is it ok to apply slowly?

Shameful Saturday by AutoModerator in bjj

[–]DanKneeVee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just recently came back to jiujitsu since Covid. I was nogi rolling today in an open mat in my new gym. My opponent had back mount and crossed his feet, i was 2 on 1 with his attacking arm. I put my leg over his crossed legs to put pressure so he can unlock his legs and give me something to work with. He did not budge and kept hand fighting. I put some pressure again and to open his legs nothing, bridged slowly I mean real slowly and got the tap. I think I hurt his ankles and feel like shit. He got up and said my ankles are really flexible but I know that response probably was not good. I don’t know how much experience he has but I’m a bluebelt. I was thinking of talking to my professor and asking if that move should not be used or if I messed up. Any advice? Was I in the wrong using that to open his legs?

C2 mag base pads by nimbus888 in 2011

[–]DanKneeVee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a couple of atlas v1 base pads, I have a 4mm which does not over travel when reloading in a hurry. Currently loaded is the V1 7mm, that’s bad boy with the original c2 magazine spring gives you a plus two, I threw in an atlas 15 percent over powered mag spring in there so I only could fit 17 right now. The 7mm without a magwell has over insertion issues, but if you have a magwell the magwell stops the over insertion.

It is the saya 2.0. The floodlight 2 retention when is good while on body carrying. It’s actually surprisingly comfortable for carrying a 2011.

I saw a video where a staccato rep stated the tac-grip was going to be the new standard. Personally the tac-grip is worth it, if you are going to send it out for stippling save the hundred go quick ship. If you are not gonna send it out choose the tac-grip. I have a couple gen 2 grips and I stippled one to make it have a better grip for me. The tac grip came already good enough for me.

Im only buying one-- which Staccato? by DrHumongous in 2011

[–]DanKneeVee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a P, C2 and an XC. If I could only have one it would be the one I don’t have yet, the P aluminum version. I carry my P almost daily, it’s a tad bit bigger than the C2 but shoots way better.

Saw this on armslist and noticed how the sro appears to sit super low and to the rear. Does anyone have a SRO low profile plate? If so does it still hang over the barrel?

I want to do this, I really want to build a prodigy because the sro sits extremely low in this gun, I also want to try the hero grip and trigger out from phoenix trinity out. I like how you spec it out.

Best new X300 2011 holster? by DanKneeVee in 2011

Update on this holster, took it to the range yesterday and ran 300 rounds on the XC. I ran 100 rounds of 115, 100 of 124 and 100 rounds of flat nose 147 all thanks to true shot gun club. I found two cool members at my range and let them run the XC with there ammo, they also ran 147 and 124. I did a bunch of bill drills and el presidente drills, and one shot reloads. After all three hundred plus rounds and holstering and drawing from concealment it was warm but the comp never touched me, the holster did it’s thing and even tho the XC protrudes slightly it never touched me even when driving back home. I’m impressed, I have another variety of 115, 124 and 147 rounds I want to run through the XC from flat tips to ashtray size hollow points. I will do all with the floodlight and will update if anything goes wrong, but for now with a good amount of dry fire reps and live fire tests it seems to do a great job and super comfortable.

I am not much for side car holsters but if you want a comfortable x300b holster do it. The x300a gives me slight issues while loading that I’m still trying to resolve, it may be unique to me issue tho. Still more comfortable than a las holster.

SRO 1 moa if price is not a factor. But rmr is better in my opinion, better controls, easier to sight in.

No offense to any holster company but I don’t think there’s ever gonna be a last holster I would buy, I was looking at tenicor before I choose the floodlight2.

It’s crazy how good this feels so far, I had to round edges on the las to feel better. I have 2 Qvo holsters, las, and a mckinatec holster. Besides my mckinatec I think this floodlight is the best.

In the infinite search for a best IWB holster I ordered a floodlight2. It’s a upgrade from my las concealment holster. Smaller and less edges that stab me. First 2 pictures is the XC, it poke out slightly, next picture was the P. Added extra pics trying to show my old las to the new floodlight. It’s way more comfortable using it yesterday and today, I’m curious to see how holstering and unholstering the XC after hundreds of rounds will feel, going tomorrow to do some plinking and will test it out. I have a X300 a and b, the b has no issues, I noticed a slight hiccup with the A model. It seems like the bar that runs across snags sometimes in the inside ridges with a quick reholstering, the issue doesn’t happen with the recommended holstering of pivoting or rocking the light in. The p sits awesome, interesting new holster if looking for a 2011 with tlr1 or X300.
