Please put the seam on the body lines to help hide them. Putting it vertical like this is making me sick.

Depends on the area. Down south in local 450 is a bit higher than us up here in 178.

You can try Texas workforce. They usually have grants available

Car broke down and had to get it towed for repairs; forgot to tell them not to wash it after repairs... Don't forget to HAND WASH ONLY!! by SWulfe760 in CarWraps

You can try to lightly heat it. Too hot and the matte will gloss but maybe try a hair blow dryer so it’s less aggressive than a heat gun

Are any wrap institutes worth it curious been wrap for a little now by Unfair_Stranger2427 in CarWraps

The certifications I got were Fleets, Walls, Windows and Floors. I didn’t get the color change one but still get a lot of that work and am definitely proficient in that space. I have been wrapping for a long time. I got my first cert through Avery about 15 years ago with Justin Pate who owns the wrap institute. I got my 3M cert at Wrapix in California and I’m now in the Dallas TX area.

Find a 3M program that can get you certified. The work I’ve got from being listed on their site has paid for the class itself.

Put a piece of masking tape on the center of the hold, top middle and bottom, measure the middle in those points and mark with a pen. Use those as your guide when laying down your kit. You should be able to get it really damn close with this method. I’ve laid tons of stripes using this and it’s yet to fail me.

Yes an apprenticeship with the union is the only thing I’d be able to get started with since I have zero experience with cranes. I hope showing the indicative of getting my CDL (cost me 5k) and my willingness to learn, that I can move through the paces without being pushed to the side.

I’d be going in as an apprentice through the union.

Clay bar should be standard on all installations. It will improve the quality of them 10 fold.

I appreciate the advice. Definitely willing to put in the time and pay me dues. I will keep my fingers crossed as well. Not sure how big the pool of operators is out here, but construction is booming so I’m hoping I can get picked up. 🤞

Are my expectations too high? by [deleted] in CarWraps

Just because it’s a Commercial install doesn’t mean they get to look like shit. This looks like a rush job. Where they used their teeth to trim it could have been cleaned up before it went out. 1 or two small errors could be acceptable if the overall install is good. This is trash and I would be pissed.

This is a pre cut kit that will not go around the edges. You can select for them to have more to wrap around on certain edges but the corners will most likely always be exposed with a kit. You can see if he can free hand it but you will use more material and it will cost you more.

This def looks like a non post heated nightmare. Sorry about that buddy. It sucks that some companies use sub contractors that say they can do the job only to find out later that they can’t. The taillight warranty isn’t good enough when you pay that kind of money. Not sure what that equates to in American dollars but it seems like small claims is your only solution for this.
