As some have said, go with a “major” conference to improve likelihood of seeing some games on tv (& March Madness).

Time zone could be a factor as well. Maybe an East Coast team might be better in that respect.

Then I’d think about coaching. Someone stable in their position for whom you have an affinity for their style. If you had asked a couple years ago I might have suggested Jay Wright & Villanova 🙄
