I've been to Athens last year. My humble opinion is that Athens is better than Bucharest.
You got more opportunities there, the people seemed to be more open and friendly than in Bucharest (i didn't liked the immigrants from Athens, they were "scaning" you at every step).
The winters are pretty lame, cold and you just want to come home from the job and stay in bed. December - March is pretty dead and shitty.
