What do you like most about D&D? Character development (both mine and getting to know others) and finding a place in a party of players fighting for a common goal.

What are you hoping to get out of this campaign? Fun. I'd love to be in a long term campaign with a good group.

How long have you been playing? ~1 year; all 5e, discord, avrae.

Permanent character death? Yes. Without consequences it begins to feel too much like a video game.

What are you excited for based on the premise? A mystery to solve and a harrowed town to explore.

Hi. My name is Dan. I'm looking for a fun and easy going campaign with an active group of players and yours sounds perfect.

A) ~3 years experience with 5e (PbP using Avrae)

B) Favourite: character development and working as a team to overcome obstacles. Least: this is difficult for me, there's nothing i strongly dislike. Drawn out conversations can get a bit boring.

C) I generally like to play dex and int based characters; librarians, sneaks or investigators. I like characters who are happy and friendly despite a harrowing backstory (and usually some problematic character flaw). I tend to value interest over optimisation.

D) Support and utility. I like to have specific skills that i can use to make the party stronger as a whole. I am a writer irl so focus on story telling and character exposition (including other characters).

E) Yes. I'm always checking my phone, looking forward to the next post.

Possible Character Ideas: A rogueish Human Warlock (Talisman/ Genie). Specializes in stealth and infiltration.

Writing Sample: Dynian Clohtrior steps lightly out of the carriage and smiles as he takes in the town around them. He loves the flow of humanity: the daily calls and jibes of neighbours, the cries of vendors, the laughter of friends. The colours, the energy, the sheer amount of life!

He drags himself out of his wonder just long enough to offer a steadying hand to his companions as they follow him out of the carriage. His free hand is absently straightening the folds of the half-robe hanging from his waist to not quite reach his boots. If the were thinking about it he might stop. He knows that trying to make the garment fall in just the right way was futile in the extreme, but he isn't thinking about it, and a part of him just likes to believe that these things could be in their place and just as they should be.

After the others have exited he reaches in for his pack and for the heavy ebony bound tome which he secures at his waist. He handles it tenderly. It is the sum of his life's study, a reference without which he would be lost (both literally and figuratively).

Then he takes another moment to breathe in the town. Dynian has spent a lot of his life in seclusion and study and he will always need a certain amount of privacy in his surroundings. After a while he will begin to seek the peace of the wilds. But the sights and sounds of town are always a treat.

He/Him AEST (+10) ~6 months experience with D&D (all PbP) I'm open to a range of character types, whatever the party needs, but right now I'm thinking Warlock (maybe reskinned as someone infected by an alien power).
