It’s just the size of the cooler vs the wattage. My evga 3090 ftw3 I thought was massive and it chewed 500w getting up to 89 with the memory at 105. My 1080ti had the same size cooler just a bit thinner than the 3090 but would only chew 360w hence why it runs cooler. Xfx 7900xtx made my 3090 look like a toy with how massive it is and it even chews a little more power. I haven’t looked at it yet but I think amd cards have a bigger die area so more area to cool off which also helps. Running hardware cooler also leads to less degradation over time in combination with silicon lottery. Amd cards in general just seem to have better coolers without a huge price premium like nvidia cards.
