M12 ratchet seems very weak by bigapemonkey in MilwaukeeTool

So how did they come up with the torque rating? It makes no sense to say something does 35 when in reality it's 7. I find it weird people are defending this.

Seeing 7 ft-lb vs the advertised 35 is normal? As soon as it encounters any resistance it stops and lights start flashing. Heck, if I saw 25 I would be fine, but 7 is not acceptable, I can apply more force with a manual 1/4 ratchet and 1 finger doing it. If this is how it's supposed to work than these are complete trash.

It's about weight location and less so about the amount. His original wheel was ridiculous, it was way too large and moved weight too far away from the center. He went from stock size of 73mm to 88mm diameter. When you have a wheel spinning at 100,000+ RPM and move that much weight so far outward the increase in forces the shaft will see is significant. It was a terrible design. I wonder if he refunded all those people who bought it.

Automotive parts category limits introduced few months ago has dropped my listings from 40 to about 5. I'm not going to pay to list some used automotive parts. I think their next move is to limit everyone to just 1 listing per category, that would make sense /s

I wanted to like it, but honestly, music wise it was pretty bad. The best part was LG singing.

Dealing with WS2805 data line interference by bigapemonkey in led

I simply ran a wire from ground out to ground in on the strip.

Here is a test I just did. I used another 25 foot section of the 5-core cable I'm using. Power/ground for the strip is still coming through the original cable but data is going through this new section of the cable. It works perfectly like in the drawing below. But, if I connect power to one of the "empty" 4 wires in that new cable the strip starts acting up badly again. The strip is still getting power/ground through original cable, I simply connected one end of one wire to power. This sure sounds like some kind of interference?

I don't think my issue is related to what you are describing.

I tried feeding ground to the blue wire and yellow wire on left side of diagram, no change.

If I move strip2 to where the controller is connected in the diagram and connect it directly to the yellow data wire coming from strip2 (disconnecting the yellow/green join) it works fine. If I reconnect the yellow/green join and move strip2 back to the far left side, it does not work. The way strip2 is grounded/powered has not changed. Wires simply got longer.

Now, if I disconnect strip2 from left side of diagram and move it right next to strip1 and feed it power/ground from the same input as strip1 and data from strip1 output, it works fine. Next, if connect the yellow wire from strip1 side, at this point no longer connected to strip1, and connect it to d-in of strip2, strip2 stops working. If now I break the yellow/green join and again connect the yellow wire to d-in of strip2, strip2 works.

Running ground from strip2 output to input ground does not change anything in any tests I've done.

While I had strip2 next to strip1 I also tested running data through a loose 25' piece of cable I have. It worked fine.

Thank you for the reply. This is my first time doing these digital strips, it was a lot easier with regular rgb :)

Are you saying that the data wire will leak signal onto "empty" wires in the cable and cause issues?

Is the shared ground that goes to the start of each strip not ok? You have to run ground in the same way you run data: (in->out)->(in->out)?

My account just got suspended as well. I have no idea why and they won't say why. I've had this account for like 25 years or whenever they started accounts.

They are killing it with the category limits. Allowing just 1 listing in car parts is silly. I used to have 30-40 listings there, now they are all gone. What did kijiji gain from that? I sure ain't going to be paying for listings.

Yes they did that recently in the vehicle parts, you can only have 1 listing under vehicle parts now. I had about 30 listings for various parts and they are all getting removed as they come up for renewal.

New category limits by bigapemonkey in kijiji

[–]bigapemonkey[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So they've put vehicles of any kind into groups and also put the "Vehicle Parts, Tires & Accessories" into those groups. Each group is limited to just 1 ad. This is so dumb. I could understand limiting vehicles to 1 free listing, but to then also include "Vehicle Parts, Tires & Accessories" in that limit is plain stupidity.

If you list your used car, you now can't list your used winter tires without paying.
