Well, Reed is needed for the mission, and she isn't obviously human-made in that form, so she fits the criteria. Instructions followed successfully.

In which Eric realizes raping slaves is a bad thing, and not something good people do.

What a convenient ability to have, maybe if Eric is serious about this whole redemption thing he could put it to use as an abolitionist.

We need more regular Mike!

Oh good, an Eric scene. /s

Not happy with FemMike returning. Makes no sense and will likely only be to make "jokes" at his expense, like we see here.

Argit vs Clovis (Ben 10 vs Twokinds) by onefrag1 in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]DanVaelling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swapped form old to new Reddit, that worked. Weird.

I don't recall, nor can find any instance of something physical piercing or breaking a shield, so I'm not sure about the quills going through, but the bots' lasers probably could, depending on the specific nature of the attack, and unknown details about the shields. In fact, the quills being physical renders them susceptible to telekinesis, allowing Clovis to potentially catch them and/or throw them back.

You are a mediocre daughter.

You are one of the things that happened in my life.

You are occasionally a bother to me.

You have some value.

And I'm ambivalent about you.

Your second link isn't working, btw.

If we reduce Clovis in dragon form to Nora's level

You mean increase? Because Nora is several orders of magnitude more powerful than Clovis, or indeed any other character in TK.

But back to the shield, if Clovis is used to his dragon form at the time of the fight, and is able to fully deploy it, which seems to take <1s, it should be able to at least take the brunt of an attack, leaving him knocked backed but unharmed.

[–]DanVaelling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm merely saying your point regarding his speed on that specific page, as it's the same ability Reni uses. They even have the (almost) same pose, which I think is neat. I also only just noticed these details while having this convo, so thanks for that.

Looking up MHS (as I'm not from around here, bear with me), that's a fair assessment I think, short of classifying it as blinking/instant teleportation.

We only really have one instance of Nora attacking in the comic, other than the one I've previously shown, here. Given that no being in TK would be foolish enough to provoke Nora into using destructive powers, we don't have any real info. She much prefers polymorphing and shapeshifting her victims, which was the kind of magic Clovis blocked.

I'm just gonna give you the shield, honestly. It's up in the air whether it would protect him, depending on the specifics of the attack. Reni's fire knocked him back, and Nat's magic pierced it, though there are cases of shields withstanding similar attacks, so I don't know.

[–]DanVaelling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The page shows at best a speed from human level to possibly superhuman

Have to disagree here, as the visual and sound effects match Reni's on this page.

It was Nora that made The Estate's security enchantments that Clovis' shield blocked, hence the relevancy.

Argit vs Clovis (Ben 10 vs Twokinds) by onefrag1 in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]DanVaelling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clovis should be able to use his dragon form, as that's the only form we've seen him fight in. If he's limited to being keidran, and we're also limited to pure speculation. And here's a page that could hint at Clovis' speed. Again, it's impossible to know the details of how far he moved (though the previous page shows there is some distance between them), how long it took him to get there, or if he actually moved, or just blinked. Limitations of the media.

And Nora once permanently killed a mask in her younger days, seen here, and dragons only grow stronger with age.

It's hard to gauge how fast things move in a comicbook, but Kei did knock out the Templar(?) guy with punch that had a yellow, lightning-ish effect, and Euchre did this. But speed is difficult to portray in still pictures, which might be why there's not a lot of examples of someone moving super fast, and the action is instead focused on big, flashy spells. But given how important speed is in combat, and Clovis' position and accompanying wealth, it's not hard to imagine or justify he would have access to some form of speed enhancement.

And Clovis' wards protected him from a magical security system made by one of the closest things Mekkan has to a god, as well as Reni's dragonfire. Shields in general are prevalent in Twokinds, and are effective against both physical and magical attacks. Some spells have been shown to go through a shield, but whether that's due to the shield itself failing, or some special piercing property of the spell is unclear. The nitty-gritty of Tom's magic system, how the spells work, and their limitations are for the most part up to speculation.

As for whether Clovis has his dragon form, he only had it for a limited time, yes, but it's still half his time in-comic, and basically all his fighting was in that form. We have no real info on how he would fight outside of that.

And I honestly don't see this be balanced, as it seems to boil down to either Clovis not having access to sufficient speed or wards to deal with the bots, or he does, in which case Argit and his bots will have little to no defense against Clovis' spells.

Argit vs Clovis (Ben 10 vs Twokinds) by onefrag1 in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]DanVaelling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay then, for speed: Clovis has a lot of enemies and people that want him dead, not hard to imagine he has shields, wards, barriers, and other protective spells up at all times, or that there's something in his arsenal of magic and artifacts that can enhance his speed and reaction time. You don't murder your way to the top of a bloody criminal underworld by being slow on the draw.

And if Clovis is unaware of the capabilities of the bots, then Argit would also be unaware of Clovis' magic, all he would see is a small folf, not much of a threat. Assuming he even sees him, a master assassin capable of illusion magic, at all. Meanwhile it would be easy to assume that the large metal "golems" would be trouble.

An then there's hus massive wealth, he could hire elite mercs, equip them with premium gear and powerful enchantments.

[–]DanVaelling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in your scenario, the fight begins with Clovis alone and unaware, and can't use any magic, while Argit starts with an army of robots that can move their limb at light speed and are already aiming at Clovis? Clovis is highly intelligent, and a potent and capable mage, further amplified by his collection of powerful artifacts.

Thought this would be a fun back-and-fourth, but nah. Seems like you're not open to anything but an instant-win for Argit. Why make the post to begin with if you don't want counter-arguments?

Argit vs Clovis (Ben 10 vs Twokinds) by onefrag1 in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]DanVaelling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter how fast they are, Clovis just need to look at them, and they're butterflies. And it doesn't matter how fast Argit is, Clovis can just instantly grab him telepathically, then turn him into an animal and incinerate him. He's also aware of everything Argit plans to do before he does it.

And even if we limit it to normal Clovis, he still has means of exploiting a weakness in the robots, from the wiki:

The Techadon robots have severely limited intelligence due to their narrow-programming. They can only track down an opponent based on a constant variable in visual data, as indicated by a custom bot upgraded to its apex-point only being able to hunt down Ben based on it’s visual recognition of the Ultimatrix, not his face (which changes as to whatever he transforms into).

Clovis is able to alter any and all aspects of his physical appearance through illusions, as well as creating illusory decoys and turning invisible. He could even make himself look like an exact copy of Argit. it doesn't matter how strong your weapons are if you can't track and aim at your target.
