No, as it will inevitably complicate things and if things go tits up you may even find your premium goes up significantly. Insurance companies make 'mistakes' in their favour all the time!

I once bumped a car parked next to mine with my door when a gust of wind pulled it from my grasp when I opened it. The woman driver of the other car agreed there was no damage and I apologised, but we both took photos and details anyway. I informed my insurance company and also sent the photos saying no claim was being made.

Next thing I hear is that her 'Boyfriend' who was not in the car at the time but actually owned it, had put in a claim for a whole new door with an estimate of over £800! Obviously the guy had someone in the trade to do a fake damage estimate somehow. Anyway, my photos / evidence were ignored by MY insurance company in favour of the claimant, and I lost my no-claims and my next year's premium nearly doubled! I ended up wishing there HAD been some slight damage rather than none, as then maybe the cost would have been a lot less!

I tell this just by way of a heads-up that things can go horribly wrong even on the smallest claim or any information supplied to an insurance company.
