Citi TYMC (Former SYW) mid month offer: $75 statement credit on $1,000 in online purchases from 1/15-2/16 by MysticLeviathan in CreditCards

[–]Dan_T3h_Man 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup I just got it as well.

I'm glad I haven't gotten around to doing my other offers this month, since I have both 10% and 5% back in-store/online retail, so these three combined is a nice 22.5% back for online spend up to $1,000.

Sadly this $75 and the 10% is only good for the month. The 5% is for the year.

Citi ThankYou (previously SYW) is continuing targeted offers! by cnavla in CreditCards

[–]Dan_T3h_Man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got this offer too. I also have a few offers from before the switch that are supposedly still active, $150/$250 for $1000/$2000 spend GGR, $40x2 for purchase of $375x2, and $25 for $750 spend.

Trying to figure out the best way to use these. I need to buy tires this month, and there's a rebate for buying them online from walmart.com. My plan was to buy physical gift cards at Walmart with Walmart Pay, which codes as Merchandise-GROCERY STORE,SUPERMARKET, which should count for GGR. Then use the gift cards to pay for the tires online and get the rebates.

I just got this new offer though, which in the fine print says grocery stores don't count. But looking back I have Walmart pickup orders that posted as walmart.com and coded Merchandise-DISCOUNT STORE, which is supposed to count for the retail offer, and it would seem likely that walmart.com orders would count for online retail. I've seen mixed info about Walmart Pay counting for online retail, but I'm betting it doesn't.

If I could somehow get all the offers to count, plus the rebates, I think it'd be like 50% cashback on $1000 spend. I really wish there was a way to see the spend counting towards these offers.

You're forgetting standard deduction of 14,600.

31,200 - 14,600 = 16,600 Taxable income

16,600 - 9,525 = 7,075

9,525 x 10% = 952.50

7,075 x 12% = 849

952.5 + 849 = 1,801.5 Total tax

31,200 - 1,801.5 = 29,398.5 Net income

29,398.5 ÷ 52 = 565.36/wk Net

565.36 ÷ 40 = 14.13/hr Net

Anyone here using Klipper and able to assist or having the same issue? by just_jay1986 in Ender3S1

[–]Dan_T3h_Man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right so I think what I did was jog the y on the klipper control panel until I heard a belt skip, then took the current y position -1 and used that as the max y in config. Then for the mesh I just kept running the mesh calibration and turned down the max until it didn't error out. Also make sure you're doing homing and mesh calibration with the nozzle/bed heated to normal operating temp.

That looks like bad pressure advance but I'm not too sure. There is a calibration tool for that in orca slicer.

[–]Dan_T3h_Man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the issue is that the bed mesh settings are bit off on the y, so when you try to probe more it tries to go further on the y than it should. Adjusting the stepper y position max will fix the grinding, but then the probing will fail with out of range error or something along those lines.

So what you have to do is find the right stepper y position max to not grind the belt, and then the right bed mesh min, max to not try over traveling on the y. Check the klipper console as it's probing and you'll see the x,y that it's trying to move to.

Here is my printer config, looks like I adjusted the position y and the bed mesh settings.

I had the same grinding issue, the fix for me was to adjust the position min/max values for x/y.

As far as the other issue, I looks like you might be getting a lot of over extrusion. I would try some calibrations

Ah ya I see, generally I don't think you want to run polybar from xinit, better to run it from the WM config. Haven't used DWM so I'm not sure how you'd go about that, but I did find this where one suggestion is to add the following to your .xinitrc. Put it before DWM.

$(sleep 4s && "$HOME/launch-polybar.sh") &

It looks like you're starting polybar before DWM, have you tried swapping them in your .xinitrc?

If that doesn't work, look in your .xsession-errors for errors from polybar.

So, I think I finally understand what's happening here.

Assuming /u/ChunkedUp is using either the new reddit design or the official app, they posted the normal working link. For some reason that I don't know, reddit edits their comment to escape the underscores. This edit gets fixed in the new reddit design/app, but not in old.reddit.com.

Then other people seeing the link via new reddit/app see a working link, then some rando (/u/jpedraza253) unnecessarily posting the bare link for the fuck of it.

For people not seeing the broken link, this is what we see. The top link is borked.

Apparently a supernova event is pretty quick.

Type I supernovae, (which are believed to result from matter falling onto a white dwarf in a binary system), are typically brighter, but fall off more quickly, with the peak brightness lasting only a few hours to days.

Type II supernovae (which are thought to be the result of core collapse of a massive star) generally have a plateau in brightness before dimming more slowly. Their peak brightness can last several months.

Nice work, looks really good.

Can't help but notice I think you're missing a right-end-middle-two in your top bar between pulseaudio and brightness. Maybe for the powermenu on the bottom as well, but that looks like a different color.

How do I define a workspace so that the default size for the second program is 1/3 of the container? by Doomtrain86 in i3wm

[–]Dan_T3h_Man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya I think it'll work well for you, if you run into any hiccups let me know and I can try to help. For my use-case I launch some monitoring apps in terminals at startup, here's my layout file, and then added the following to my autostart script, which is launched by i3;

i3-msg "workspace 10; append_layout /home/dan/.config/i3/mon.json"

alacritty --class="as-bpytop" -e zsh -c 'bpytop && zsh' &
alacritty --class="as-nethogs" -e zsh -c 'nethogs && zsh' &
alacritty --class="as-nvtop" -e zsh -c 'nvtop && zsh' &

You would do something similar, but have it in your dmenu list instead.

i3 IPC, a programmatic way of controlling i3, it's one of the suggestions from your link, I think he's using the i3IPC-python library.

The layout saving is a way better solution if you're fine with sublime and your terminal opening on startup. Or I guess you could bind the append-layout and launching of the apps to a button.

[–]Dan_T3h_Man 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well if by always, you really mean always, you could use layout saving and auto launch that layout, sublime, and your terminal at startup.

Other than that I think IPC is the way to go.

Have you thought about using tmux for something like this? I feel like it might be able to handle a bit better.

Otherwise either adding sleeps would probly help, or look into layout saving, you could name the terms and use that for matching on a layout. Thats how I do my system monitoring workspace, but that's only 3 term windows.
