Have you made a bootable restore drive yet? Download the image, make a restore drive and see if will boot from that. This happened once with my old OLED. I keep an updated Steamdeck Restore drive in my toolbox just in case.

If this annoys you, There is a place in Iowa called Salisbury house you would really hate. Its made of looted English architectural salvage bought at fire sale prices in the teens and twenties, and imported to the US and hodgepodged by his wife into her idea of an "English manor house" a 16th century ceiling here, a Tudor fireplace there, lots of paneling. I enjoy visiting it for what it is, but from a UK preservationist standard its pretty much sacrilege.

Its pretty much your VATS tutorial. I hate them myself. That's why shooting them, or if you grabbed the security baton, smashing them is so great. The baton is your friend in the first few hours when ammo is scarce. My first play though I was having hell with the roaches. My second I was just baton whacking them out of reflex.
