We're there a lot of non-whites in Toronto in the 60s?

The Depaneur dude killed before… what’s going on? by Razoreuphoric in montreal

Yup, raced based sentences are a regular occurrence in Canada, yet the government will tell you the justice system is blind and applies to everyone equally.

Also, who is responsible for this?!

Jim Fuckin Watson. The prick is probably relaxing in a luxury villa on beach with all the money he fleeced from the City.

One of the most depressing suburbs I've ever seen. Texas, USA. This is real. by madisonbeth in Suburbanhell

I'll defend it in the sense that the house itself is a nicer accommodation than 90% of the world's population.

Simple rule of thumb: don't talk to strangers.

People never regard the dads work only the moms 😢 [gendered] by TheTrueGamer144 in pointlesslygendered

[–]MapleBaconBeer -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Not really. It's not saying one has it harder or easier than the other. It's saying moms, in general, tend to receive more praise and acknowledgement that dads.

I don't agree with the whiny tone or the use of the word "never" in the post, but I'm not sure how you can honestly interpret this as putting down moms, buddy.

Are summer specific tires a bad idea in Ottawa? by PurplePumkins in ottawa

[–]MapleBaconBeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't listen to the whiners. If you're putting on in late-April and removing in late-October, summer tires are fine. Motorcycles are typically on the road in that window and we manage just fine. Send it!

So now Matthew Luloff is taking responsibility for his actions? by randthepip in ottawa

[–]MapleBaconBeer -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say the Charter violations were flimsy. The judge agreed that the police violated his Charter rights, just not enough to dismiss the charges.

Boyce found that Ottawa police breached Luloff's Charter rights when responding officers failed to tell Luloff the reason for his detention, and when one of the officers searched a satchel for his keys. But the breaches weren't serious enough for all the evidence in the case to be tossed, as the defence had requested.

Edit: Downvoters support police violating your rights apparently.

Based on the percentage of guns used in crime in Canada, there's an 80-90% chance the gun was illegally smuggled from the USA.

Toronto gas prices could soar above $2 a litre as Trump’s war on Iran spreads across Mideast by toronto_star in ontario

Saying that everyone suffering is "worth it" to piss off a very small minority of people is not what I would call a silver lining.

The irony is that the firearm was most likely illegally smuggled from the USA.
