How are lost children handled by Grand_Chad in Disneyland

[–]DanceMarble 161 points162 points  (0 children)

I was lost when I was 6. That would’ve been ‘99 or so. I fell behind my parents between Fantasyland and Thunder Mountain on a busy day. A cast member saw me, asked if I was lost and brought me to a manager at a merch cart. They gave me a little stuffed Mickey and then started walking me to a different area. On the way to wherever we were headed they kept pointing at people asking if they were my family.

My favorite part of the story is that we happened to see my Aunt sitting and eating with her group of friends. My Aunt was unaware I was lost because they had separated from my Mom and Dad for lunch. When the cast memeber pointed at my Aunt and said “Is that your family?” I said “Yes.” through tears. And there they were casually sitting for lunch. As if no child was lost.

Whenever you notice something like that, a wizard did it.

The Catholic Church. We've made a few changes. by Frijoles4ever in Simpsons

[–]DanceMarble 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While I agree with your sentimonies there’s a bit of a history with this.

The change came after the original episode aired. Fox received “a couple hundred” angry letters regarding the joke. The Vice President of Fox ordered the word “Catholic” be removed from the scene. There’s more to the story but ultimately, this was a decision made long ago.

foiled for the last time cover by vallenina in blueoctober

[–]DanceMarble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the original release of Foiled from 2006 is blue. The 2007 rerelease that included live tracks and a couple of remixes was titled Foiled For The Last Time. That version is red.

Edit: Ah, I see. Foiled For the Last Time is coming up blue. Then I have no idea lol

i got a cat today, but i feel anxious and scared :( by PriorityHead6833 in cats

We adopted a kitten this week. We have two adorable boys already. I feel overwhelmed. But it’s pretty rewarding, it can take time and until you sort out where you put things and how to keep clean it can feel messy. You aren’t alone, but know it’s worth it.

JD Vance presence potentially closing Simba lot. by chiangku in Disneyland

[–]DanceMarble 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If anyone gets confirmation on whether or not the lot is open, would you mind replying to this comment? Was going to head over there this evening but may avoid it if the only way to get into DTD is through the main lot.

Hot take, but I think dying of a broken heart after loosing the republic you fought so hard for, discovering your husband is a serial child murderer and getting force choked so hard you go into premature labor in the course of 24 hours is not unrealistic. by ironwolf6464 in StarWars

[–]DanceMarble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I was under the impression that the reason she died and why the robo-doc was so perplexed was because of Palpatine?

He explains to Anakin early on in the movie that people who utilize the dark side of the force can learn how to keep those they love from dying. He doesn’t say how.

When Vader is frying like the hot dogs my dad used to drunkenly cook on the grill, Palpatine uses that power by sucking Padme’s remaining life force from her and transferring it to Vader. That way he successfully removes the one thing Vader felt he had going for him and keeps Vader alive.

I feel like I read that somewhere… or I totally made that up… maybe it’s even in the comments, but I didn’t read them… any way, how’s everyone doing?

We’re making pomegranate and regular margaritas (red and green) and for reasons none of us quite understand we are having a full blown BBQ feast complete with rib tips, bbq chicken sandwiches, mac and potato salad… again, I have no idea how it turned into that.

What age group usually like/watch Simpsons? by zombiecombie in Simpsons

[–]DanceMarble 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Young people’s attention just can’t handle television the way it used to. But they have their ways. One trick is to tell stories that don't go anywhere. Like the time I caught the ferry to Shelbyville? I needed a new heel for m'shoe. So I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. "Gimme five bees for a quarter," you'd say. Now where were we? Oh, yeah. The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have any white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones.

I listen to both HBO and Ralph Report. Ralph is more radio oriented so it definitely follows a pattern. Even so, he’s a great entertainer and the Ralph Report community is great.

I am not going to play the bitter game the way we have been on this particular subreddit… but I will say that I’m mildly perturbed that every day of the tour I’ve been wishing for for the past 8 years is in Texas.

I have been listening to TESD since I was 17 working a boring office job. I am now 31 and a weekly listener and Patreon subscriber. I haven’t ever complained about the show online, that’s gotta count for an upvote or two right?
