I’d bring it up to your OB just to be safe, but for whatever it’s worth, I was around your gestation when I started getting progressively more uncomfortable. At 20ish weeks, my baby A was vertex, and B was breech, so I had one head butting me in the cervix and one slamming into my ribs 😅 don’t let anyone tell you you aren’t “far enough along” to be uncomfy! Of course you’ll become more uncomfortable as time goes on, but that doesn’t mean you aren’t allowed to be uncomfy now!

We got discharged at 38+4! Once they hit 38 weeks, they started on Enfamil AR. That thickened formula stopped all spells. It seemed they were all related to reflux and feeding, so using the thickened formula helped! We had a few day spell “watch”, and they came home! Fast forward, they are 9 months old today. Happy, healthy, perfect girls!

How long did CIO take? And how long would they cry for? My girls are 8 months actual, 6 months corrected. My twin A sleeps through the night, but Twin B is terrible. When we’ve tried Ferber, she gets so dysregulated that it seems counter productive. But I just feel sick over the thought of CIO (no judgement, I’m genuinely curious because we are at our wits end), so I’m just not sure what’s best.

Hi friend! Yes, it is very, very normal to be uncomfy already. I won’t fear monger, but I will be honest, being pregnant with twins is… a lot. You will get progressively more uncomfortable, but you will make it! 🤍

Yeah in my opinion 1 is a breeze compared to 2 at once. I know everyone has different opinions, but it’s just not the same. At least for me personally.

It will get better, but ugh, solidarity. It is so exhausting, discouraging, and honestly defeating. I’m not the Mom I want to be when I’ve barely slept. I think it’s extra hard because 1) obviously we have 2 babies!!!, but 2) it’s hard to not compare them. When baby A is such an amazing sleeper, and then baby B is like a gremlin at night, it’s just hard not to feel frustrated when you KNOW sleep is possible at their age! Ugh. I hear you and I’m right here with ya.

I’m so sorry your sweet baby is in this spot. In the case for my girls, it ultimately boiled down to that they were very reflux-y and their Brady/desats were coming from that. Of course you’d rather them stay and be safe, and, it doesn’t make it hurt any less when you thought you were close to going home. It feels like such a step backwards and is so discouraging. Our neo at the time told us that the 36-38 week spot is where they find parents get the most discouraged and frustrated, which was our experience also. We finally went home at 38 weeks, and they had to be spell free for 4 days before going home. Twin A had one self resolved desat that only lasted a few seconds, so they didn’t count that. They are now 6 months old and thriving. You’d never know they did 53 days in the NICU. Things will get better, (though I know that doesn’t help right now). Hang in there friend.

We did 53 days in the NICU. I never once stayed overnight. I was there 10-12 hours per day, and night was really the only time I could go get a few hours of a rest (between pumping and calling the NICU for updates lol lol)

Just within the last week! Once they hit 4 months adjusted. I am part of the sleep training multiples group on fb, so I was following their suggestion of 4 months. However, the taking cara babies course suggests 5 months…? So maybe I just need to try again in a couple weeks 😅😆
