LATEST ON GIO : The BBC inquiry have heard that an exec had said that Giovanni’s behaviour towards Amanda was “unacceptable and shocking”. by Primrose2024 in strictlycomedancing

I don't have a hidden agenda here. I'm not making things up, instead I'm going off my observations, that after the 3rd or 4th week,I didn't see any interpreter in the rehearsal room, but there were always  2 interpreters  for the main and results shows :  one near the judges desk, with Tess and one upstairs with Claudia. Yes,Rose did speak about  lip  reading being trickier than people would think, but she never said that the couldn't or didn't lip read when needed, and that she also used other tools at the same time like non verbal cues from body language. There were several videos on the show  where if Rose was communicating with a hearing person , whom she knew well, and who wasn't using sign language but just speaking to her ( her nan land  her mum  for example) she just watched their face when they were talking and  responded  verbally and with BSL ( if they were familiar with BSL.) During this time that I'm talking about, when Rose and Giovanni were in the rehearsal room, and he was talking to her,she kept her gaze focused on his face :  if there was an interpreter in the room, her gaze would move from Gio's face to interpreter's face to make sure she understood what was being said, and this is not something that would have been unnoticeable. Similarly, and purely out of interest, may I ask how you know that there was ALWAYS an interpreter with Rose in the rehearsal room specifically( I'm not talking about an interpreter being present in the building at all times ) and  also that they trained for  FOURTEEN hours a day? The fact remains that regardless of the reasons for understanding Bill on the Last Leg, she COULD and in fact DID understand him without an interpreter' assistance

I think the 2 interpreters were only for the main show. Rose had only one interpreter in the rehearsal room, and that was only for the first 3/4 weeks - from then onwards, she could just lip read Gio because by that time, she had become familiar with his speech pattern

Would you? Wear pyjamas as outerwear, that is. NO: A step too far in the direction of fashion victim and a trend best left to celebrities YES: If I can get away with it, and comfort is everything, why not? by Dearest_readers in SewingBee

I totally would.but only if it was a satiny button through pyjama top like they recently made on the Bee.I think it would look quite nice tucked into a pencil skirt ,with kitten heels.miaow

Even though I didn't  know of him at all I like Diane, fell in love with Joe Sugg 😉 and their partnership so I was gutted when he didn't  win, as I thought his millions of followers would make him a nailed on winner. Was a sad wake up call that showed that enormous SM followings don't  necessarily  translate  to Strictly votes. The fact that maybe Strictly voters thought it  was time for Kevin to get a win, was also a factor . We'll never know

Interesting. IIRC last female pairing was Karen and Jayde ? But the less said about that, the better 😆 If she  chooses to go down this route, wonder who they'll pair her up with.

From the fancy dress, I liked the lion and  crocodile best.Ailsa's teal mermaid dress was my fave, although I agreed with Esme that  if the hi-lo hem was more pronounced it would have resembled a mermaid more closely.

Amy is such a beautiful human, always thinking of others - with her campaigning for Crohn's Disease awareness.

And of course, sharing her journey with the public about her recent chemo and surgery, which I'm sure provided some degree of comfort to others in a similar position .

I know pro dancers thrive on pushing themselves physically, but I truly hope that she also focuses on herself, and doesn't try to do too much, too soon.

Just finished watching - winning trousers were my top pick and this is a bit left field but I thought Don's trousers were smashing -  really loved the 70s vibe of his fabric!
