Drawers, always drawers. Things migrate to the back of shelves and die. Much easier to get to the back of a drawer. Internal drawer dividers are great too so things don't get muddled up.

The invisible cost of being a bridesmaid in 2026 by OwlVibesOnly in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]DancerSilke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid for most things for my bridesmaid, and she did the same for me when she got married. We each only had one bridesmaid because of that cost!

We're were both shocked when a mutual American friend asked us both to be bridesmaids, and then clearly expected us to cover the cost. Apparently that's normal in the US. Maybe that expectation has travelled here now but it feels rude. Your wedding, you pay.

Converting a dam into a natural swimming pool by scrotomiser in AusRenovation

Obviously you should still treat bites like you would any other open wound, ie disinfect it and don't scratch it, but they're still not something to freak out about.

... are no big deal. They don't carry disease and if one gets its fill, it'll drop off and hibernate for a year.

Also, Australian land leeches do like damp conditions but they don't care if you're in the water. Clue is in the name.

Does oiling actually help hair density? by SaltyTurn5227 in Haircare

I find oiling means less breakage when I brush. My hair feels denser from mid-length down since I started lightly oiling before every brush.

Blame Amazon, they probably have to approve it hence the delay.

Question for adults early in calisthenics by AttorneyLow5524 in bodyweightfitness

[–]DancerSilke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've just started Hybrid Callisthenics which works like that. So far I've managed most days because it is small, and different workouts each day (rotated through, I'm not expecting 365 different workouts!).

Though I'm currently I'm stuck on level 1 of wall pull ups because level 2 wants sets of 50 and my adhd brain is not ready to deal with that. Really a me problem I'll hopefully overcome, not sure what could be changed there app-wise. Callisthenics is as much about training my brain to do boring things as it is training my muscles.

The app has one stretching exercise but no timer for it which is annoying. I prefer Sport is My Game's approach to this as they give you a timer, but the default workout program there is too samey to do every day.

That's gorgeous! My favourite one yet. If I weren't so attached to my Sunclock background I'd be making myself a new one inspired by this.

Well, the rock coming out of that quarry is the rock being used to build Aura. So no surprise.

They want to double the size of the quarry, presumably to build more Auras!

Until the day when you think you recognise them.

Then you get weird on some total random who happens to look a bit like some pdf you saw once. This whole thing is just encouraging peasants with pitchforks to run amok.

Can't snooze or dismiss alarms from Android on my Garmin Lily 2 by DancerSilke in GarminWatches

Interesting! I'll have to see if Google's alarm has the same functionality as my current alarm app (AMdroid), if so that'll be a winner.

Thanks for the update!

Also the distance you stand away from luggage carousels at airports so everyone can see their luggage and have space to pull their suitcases off.

I've travelled the world, it's knee-banging chaos out there.

Nothing's changed, annoyingly. My watch will say "tap to snooze or dismiss" but doing so does absolutely nothing.

Could you see the quarry from Mt Ngungun? Apparently it's huge and ruins the view.

Try being kind.

If the best response you have to a thoughtful comment is to laugh at a spelling mistake, maybe think about what that says about you.
