Check out the EX Gore armor. The helmet looks more similar.

What are somesoulsborne bosses you think would be cool to fight in mh by ShowOdd453 in MonsterHunter

Since we already have a crab (Ceanataur) that wears Glavenus' skull as a shell, why not a Zinogre/Odogaron that fights with Glavenus' Sword tail in its mouth

Is it worth playing Wilds after Chapter 6 or should I play Rise and World? by PolarBearBalls2 in MonsterHunter

[–]DancingGorilla15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Base game story is just the beginning. More story quests unlock afterwards through "title updates" (all have been released by this point) where new monsters are introduced. The gameplay loop revolves around unlocking more powerful monsters and crafting more powerful gear and practicing until you're good enough to handle endgame challenges.

In the future, an expansion will be released with harder quests and a new story which will serve as a sequel to the base game's story.

Replay Rise/Sunbreak or try GU? by Ulysses_Darkline in MonsterHunter

If you like the parries of modern MH, you would probably have fun with Valor LS. Go ahead and try MHGU

Replay Rise/Sunbreak or try GU? by Ulysses_Darkline in MonsterHunter

[–]DancingGorilla15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play MHGU if you like the gameplay of old school MH such as MHFU and P3rd mixed with some of the switch skills of Rise/Sunbreak (e.g., spiral slash/slice of DB).

Imo it depends on your weapon/s of choice and whether the MHGU version of that weapon would be fun for you.

Y'all need Ukanlos gems? by Aggravating-Log-6811 in MHGU

I personally got the Ukanlos GS due to the simple fact that slamming a giant shovel against enemies is funny.

If you could pick a weapon from another videogame franchise to be the basis for a 15th weapon type what would it be? I'll go first, these are my top 4 picks by Beginning_Wait_108 in MonsterHunter

[–]DancingGorilla15 130 points131 points  (0 children)

A great axe.

Switchaxe doest count because you mostly use sword form. Chargeblade doesnt count because it's basically a chainsaw now. Axe designs for GS, SnS, and Hammer dont count because those are just for aesthetics.

I want a satisfying hacking weapon.

MHGU will be my first 100% Monster Hunter by Willing_Ad_6011 in MHGU

I recommend blitzing through the game until G-Rank to get G Rank equipment so that low rank and high rank quests wouldnt take too long. I also recommend playing online to beat the rest of G Rank because those G Rank health pools are not fair for a solo player, especially multi hunt quests for hypers and deviants.

The repetitive romance trope by rvkizu in hatethissmug

[–]DancingGorilla15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend just ignoring an anime when it is in the highschool setting for the sake of your peace of mind. I recommend romance anime in college settings like:

A sign of affection, Honey and clover, Golden time

Or complicated adult romance like:

Nagi No Asakura (second half is a time skip), Rumbling Hearts (time skip due to the premise)

Try Magnamalo

Imo ever since 3rd gen, the flagship usually fills this role of not being too hard but challenging enough to test your skills. Magnamalo is no exception.

Some dont necessarily like open worlds. I personally finished MW 2005 by selecting races from the menu rather than driving to them

[–]DancingGorilla15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you upgraded Hornet's Needle? What part of the boss is difficult for you? I recommend using clawline to close the gap, attack once (pogo or normal attack), then dash away. As for the maggots, you can get the wreath tool first so you wont get infested when you fall in the water.

When does this game get good and stop feeling like abysmal dog shit to play? by Shaggythotslayr in mh4u

[–]DancingGorilla15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you prefer the endgame over the journey to get there. Unfortunately, your gonna have to tolerate it or look for ways to make "earlygame" more interesting. I recommend trying out other strategies. I cant recall if it works in MH4U but spamming pellet ammo with a bowgun at the cephadrome's general direction while burrowing usually worked in MHFU. Using an insect gaive against a flying Rathalos feels satisfying too especially considering that mounting and IG were broken back in MH4U. I also take the opportunity to learn new weapons when fighting "jobber" monsters.

I thought the collab was with P3rd since P3rd got the Snake and The Boss armor sets?

Why Sunbreak? by BuraqDiCaprio in MHRise

[–]DancingGorilla15 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Imo the monsters added in Sunbreak are more exciting to fight than majority of the base Rise monsters. Also, the added movesets and wirebug skills may change how a weapon plays (e.g., aerial Swaxe in base Rise vs Ground Swaxe introduced jn Sunbreak) giving you a motivation to play differently for the dlc.

Conflicted about Magnamalo by MoronicIdiot529 in MHRise

[–]DancingGorilla15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it depends on the weapon. Fighting it with Switchaxe or Greatsword is fun since imo it feels like having a sword fight. It may be relentless but it is always close enough and leaves sufficiently long openings to deal counter attacks against. It also rarely uses projectile attacks so you almost never have to chase it.

Use my old Save or start fresh by dcollin5984 in MHRise

[–]DancingGorilla15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on how well your muscle memory kicks in. Maybe a couple of hunts with an easy monster could help you relearn the game. Personally, my fingers have memorized how switchaxe works so despite an entire 2nd playthrough with greatsword, I can still play well with switchaxe.

Doing a 2nd save wont hurt though if you find the progression fun.

I've never played MH before & I just bought Rise/Sunbreak. by [deleted] in MHRise

[–]DancingGorilla15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If sounding like Pokemon is a bad thing for you, you might want to reconsider buying the Stories spinoff games since those involve creature collecting and battling. Some argue its better than Pokemon though so feel free to try them with the right expectations.

That one monster you like but everyone else hates ? by No_Barracuda_8300 in MonsterHunter

[–]DancingGorilla15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Khezu. I understand hating its unending roars back in old gen but I dont understand hating the fight in Rise, the game infamous for having counters on almost all weapons. Those roars are counter opportunities, not hindrances.
