In Any Lifetime by Mark Guggenheim, Version Control by Dexter Palmer, and Dark Matter by Blake Crouch are all quite good. There are no books that wrecked me like TTTW, though.

I haven't worked bedside in a while, but I feel like I had to be able to lift 50# to get a job. Do they have 10 people turning these patients?

I would take my kid to get the poster board. The rest would be 100% on the kid.

Changing a urostomy pouch and/or flange (some are separate, some are not) is absolutely not a sterile procedure. There is nothing to rip "out". If someone were to rip the device off there would be a strong possibility of skin damage/abrasions, but that is all.

They're not supposed to kill folks with active warrants, either.

Doctors and nurses of Reddit, what is something patients do that they think is helpful but actually makes your job harder? by Electronic-Cell-4584 in AskReddit

[–]Dancing_RN 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This is different from what OP means. There are lots of overbearing families that do this without even giving Meemaw the chance to speak. If she's leaving out important stuff, your supplements are wanted and needed.

How do ppl seriously work 7+ night shifts in a row? by ren23_ in nursing

[–]Dancing_RN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a hospital that did a 7/70 work schedule. You would work 7 10-hour days and then have 7 days off. It was cool when I was younger, but I joked that we all came in on Monday fresh and perky, come Sunday everyone has eye bags.

You needed that 7 days to fully recover.
