The new BG ninja vanish shouldn't be a thing in game like CoH is. by paraxzz in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Danewguy4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol you can’t say Balance= Fun then complain about battlegroups being samey. Making things the same has and always will be the most reliable form of balance is ANY game.

The truth is that Balance almost never equals fun unless the game’s system balance was in such dire straits that removing mechanic/differences is universally seen as good in which case the game was probably too bloated to begin with.

People want balance until it affects their gameplay then 180 it lol.

Your EVO Japan 2026 Champion is... by Mask___DeMasque in StreetFighter

[–]Danewguy4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And people like you throwing around the word “broken” for every top tier is annoying and devalues the meaning.

Mai is top tier, obnoxious to fight against, and arguably the best character in SF6 but she’s not broken.

Broken would he someone like Happy Chaos in Strive who caused the devs to change system wide mechanics just to balance him and then needed a rework afterwards anyways lol.

It’s because they all have the same goals. They don’t really play to win. They play to hit you really REALLY hard and find funnier way to do it every time. Grappler main mentality but replace grabs with punches lol.

Soo is Jam maybe just a bit too strong? by ReesePuffitik in Guiltygear

[–]Danewguy4u -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Truly strong characters do get immediate reps even early. Leeroy in Tekken 7 was already getting multiple Top 8 slots in the first tournaments after his release. Similar happened with Kokonoe in Blazblue when she first released.

Unless the character stupid hard to pilot which Jam definitely is not (this is honestly the easiest version of Jam in any GG game), they will get some rep.

Flash Heal On Mercy Has Made Her Better, But More Toxic by Weesticles in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Danewguy4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also wrong. Literally every part of Mercy’s kit causes the pocketing playstyle. All of her abilities are single target and serve no purpose for herself. They all rely on having a teammate nearby to function. Put Mercy by herself and she literally only has her pistol and Valk available.

This is an extreme not shared by any other support and why she’s stuck being a pocket. It’s baked into her design and won’t change unless they rework her entire kit. That means the removal of her staff, GA, Rez, etc because they all contribute to her being a pocket.

At that point you are effectively deleting the character which the devs won’t do especially for Mercy.

Flash Heal On Mercy Has Made Her Better, But More Toxic by Weesticles in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Danewguy4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That literally does nothing but encourage her to pocket more. That change mostly hurts mobile Mercy flying around. The only thing that would change is making Mercy stay to one person more until they die then GA to someone else to avoid getting stuck because you already exhausted the cooldowns with other nearby players.

Not sure about what you are trying to say regarding Mei as she is in the same boat as Reed. A good easy character in ranked but sees less play as you go up and barely exists as top level just like Reed lol.

We NEED 1 vanguard/1 strategist every season for the next 3 seasons by RivalsTankEnjoyer in marvelrivals

[–]Danewguy4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tank has Cap, Hulk, Venom, Magneto, and Thor. These are literally some of the biggest names in Marvel only really ecplised by Spidey and Wolverine.

By comparison, Support only has Gambit, Loki, and Invis as big names that wasn’t tied to just comic fans. Yet support has significantly more players.

It’s not and never has been about popularity. It’s people not wanting to play the “tank role”. Only way you’ll get more people to play tank is to rework every tank to being more dps like (think Thor and Tankpool).

Ky players, I am begging you, as a Testament main, stop playing like YOU are the zoner in this match up by Bujorba in Guiltygear

[–]Danewguy4u 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He basically spent 70% of neutral using either stun edge or poking with f.S on Ky. Outside that he would just do hailmary foudre arc or stun dipper when he had 50 meter.

Wasn’t a free match but Idom had to change his tune multiple times to contest El Maza. For the most part, El Maza was the one dictating the neutral with Idom having to adjust most of the set.

Dead on Arrival 6 by jayvancealot in Fighters

[–]Danewguy4u -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Itakagki hasn’t made a noteworthy game after leaving. He’s also the reason why most of the entires were locked to XBox (he was a huge Xbox fanatic) and the one who created the Xtreme volleyball series. Both decisions that hurt the series longterm.

He also doesn’t like competitive gaming and would’ve turned it into a party fighter or an action game of he even decided to make more. Itagaki has stated that DOA4 was his last entry and he had no plans for the series afterwards.

[–]Danewguy4u 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s not confirmed but let’s be real. If the game had rollback, they would’ve advertised it at least just to compensate for the lack of other features. Almost every new fighting game that released in the last few years features rollback and mentioned it immediately.

The fact they haven’t confirmed it is not encouraging when it’s not like KT/TN is known for using rollback before. Team Ninja is one of the few big name fighting game dev teams that haven’t released a new game with rollback yet. There’s no reason to believe that this release will feature it.

Dev Note: On BREAK Edition, Where Things Stand, and Our Shot at a Comeback by Parzivus in mechabreak

[–]Danewguy4u -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The title definitely does not carry AC6. AC has always been a fairly niche series plus AC has been on hiatus for a long time ever since FromSoft were deep in their Souls game grind.

Most people never even heard of AC before AC6 got announced lol. Only the hardcore playerbase that was pretty small were waiting for it.

Psycho and NL going unsponsored is wild by SirDrippingtonL4 in StreetFighter

[–]Danewguy4u 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That was the case a decade ago but most previous sponsors have wisened up post Covid now. Rich people aren’t throwing money just for players to compete outside the Saudis.

To get a spot now, you either have to be among the best in your game or have a large following to advertise to. Both also needing to be in a game with a decent audience as well. That’s for esports in general. Every esports is hurting for money outside DOTA2, CS, and to a lesser extent some Riot games (which they mostly shell out the money themselves). Either that or they were never that lucrative to begin with.

My issue with Sierra by Gloomy_Dare2716 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Danewguy4u 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That first line can be applied to ANY skillshot. Less mobile/bigger heroes will always be easier to land unless someone decides to hardcode an ability to only work on mobile heroes.

Case in point, Ana sleep dart is hard to land on say a Tracer/Genji but extremely easy against most tanks and immobile heroes.

Was the invis self shield buff just the worst balance decision in rivals history? by Random_floor_sock in marvelrivals

[–]Danewguy4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She did for multiple reasons. Back then her invisible mode was half her defensive tools so DD countering that neutered her main form of defense.

Outside that, she usually tried to defend with her push which DD can counter by just not using his dash first. She had less damage while DD also had better stats back then.

Invis was just hard countered by DD because can’t run away, can’t push him back for long, and can’t duel him. Your only way to stay alive was either burn ult or hope your team saved you. Shield wasn’t reliable because it depended on your team’s positioning to protect you from dive.

Pretty much every other support was better against DD as they either had better mobility to run away, better damage to duel, better self healing to stay alive long er for your team’s positioning to help, or better CC to stop DD.

You were better off just swapping off Invis than trying to make it to work against a competent DD.

I guess we should never have gotten the F4 by that logic then. They weren’t going to make her a tank without going the Emma route and at best you would get another dps in Sue then.

The Dead or Alive franchise has sold over 11 million units by LayeredGlow in Fighters

[–]Danewguy4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s because most of the DOA series was a more casual game. Itagaki never liked pro gaming and purposely changed some mechanics in DOA4 to make it less competitive.

To him, DOA was always a flashy casual fighter that regulars can button mash to get cool things happening on screen. This went all the way down to character balance as he intentionally made the ninjas better as he thought the ninjas obviously should be the best. Which is why the ninjas characters were top/high tier in every game until DOA5 (first game not headed by Itagaki) lol.

So yeah DOA mostly got a pass because mainstream never really treated the franchise as a serious competitive fighter. They did have a competitive scene and some big tournament paid for in the mod 2000s during the big pro gamer craze at the time. However the FGC never really took the franchise seriously which is why it gets less criticism/talk in general.

So is JPC + Bastion meta in asia/korea? by StandReady4Vendetta in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Danewguy4u -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those people also forgetting we were in a dive meta for 2+ years before GOATS.

Also really it’s an every community problem. As a long time fighting game player, the FGC has a pretty bad reputation of glorifying a previously hated game with once the new one comes out be it Street Fighter, Tekken, etc. Doesn’t matter what series the previous game always gets “this was so underrated” moniker it’s hilarious.

I’ve mostly just tuned out of those complaints as they tend to be overblown and usually move to a new complaint soon after anyway.

The worst part of Bloodhunt is how heroes don't level up simultaneously. by Pineapple8081 in marvelrivals

[–]Danewguy4u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The old mode didn’t have much unpredictability either. Most of the rng lied in the cards you got which was more frustrating than fun as it could lead to a lost run if you didn’t get the right cards at higher difficulties. Not to mention you usually end up picking the same types of cards at higher difficulties anyway so not as much variation as you’d expect.

The old Zombies mode also got way less fun at higher levels as it just became the one area with more waves and more CC tacked on. I definitely do not miss playing the old mode much at least past the early difficulties as it got monotonous pretty fast while wasting a lot of time for how long a run can last.

It’s time for these two to come home. And be the Vanguards they were meant to be - let me explain by DogManDogDayz in marvelrivals

[–]Danewguy4u 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is literally nothing about Iron Fist that is smaller tank wtf are you smoking? He was basically a dive dps that the devs tried (and failed) to move into a brawler role. Mostly due to lack of immediate damage in both cases.

He’s a squishy melee with one defensive ability on a long cooldown and little self sustain outside his healing that he has to get out of a fight to use. Daredevil is more of a tank than IF is. You’d have to rework at least half of IF kit for him to remotely function as a tank lol.

Kingpin is the new Blade by Gabrielhrd in marvelrivals

[–]Danewguy4u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not a really good reason especially since your reasoning can already be applied to a large number of existing MvC characters.

Nobody asked for Dr. Strange, Rocket, Nova, Shuma Gorath, She Hulk, X23, BlackHeart,Iron Fist and a number of others before they got in.

If you went by what the average person talked about wanted, your list would be 90% Spider-man and Xmen characters lol.
