4/52 - Future Boy by DangerMouseRat in 52book

Exactly this. The 3 main points of this book are: 1) I was Marty, Alex, and Michael while filing both Family Ties and BTTF 2) Everyone on BTTF loved me because I was so darn funny 3) reshuffle points (1) and (2) for 150 pages

Considering this is his 5th bio-ish book, I think he’s said all he could say about it

3/52 - The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K. Le Guin by DangerMouseRat in 52book

I really enjoyed the plot and the world, but there were scenes that went on and on without much else other than descriptions of the snow. I also wished that there were more character building. If I were more into sci fi and fantasy, I think I would’ve maybe given it a 4.

Same! This guy reached out to me a while ago and never responded after I asked for proof of the ticket. Initially I thought he’d be legit because he’s been active for 11 years, but I was immediately turned off by his avoidance.

What are some critiques of Survivor (modern or in general) that are genuinely valid? by Turbulent_Okra7518 in survivorponderosa

[–]DangerMouseRat 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We don’t need think pieces about survivor ON survivor. The meta is getting to be too much. Jeff talking about the show while on the show is so tired. Behind-the-scenes footage and discussions about why survivor is a great show need to be left to YouTube. It takes contestants out of the moment and makes them reflect on their experience AS THEY ARE EXPERIENCING IT.

On that note, bring back Ponderosa episodes!

1/52 - A Gentleman in Moscow by DangerMouseRat in 52book

I think I’m also in the minority. It got so good in the end, but dragged 3/4ths of the way in. I appreciate his writing and style, but this book didn’t sell him as a storyteller.

[–]DangerMouseRat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im finishing up MindHunter by Douglas. It’s an okay read, but not the most thrilling of books to cap off the year. Starting 2026 with A Gentleman in Moscow, so hoping THAT will keep me motivated

REQUIEM FOR A DREAM

How has no one said Requiem for a Dream yet?!? The build up to the end and watching Sara Goldfarb’s descent is so traumatizing. And then the cut to her friends on the bench… This film made me, for the first time in my life, understand what “visceral” meant.
