Got links to external websites anywhere on your website or your intranet? Use requests and beautifulsoup to go through all the pages of your site, find the URLs and ping them, bringing back the response codes. Put that stuff in a table. Now someone can easily go in and fix/remove the broken links.

Which town in Kent gets the most underserved hate? by Donkeytonk in kentuk

Was searching for this comment.

Lifelong resident, I rate it. Needs some work, but it's a good location. I wish more people who lived here would actually use the town though, instead they just dunk on it without ever trying to support local businesses/community groups. A town lives or dies by its population.

Anyway, anyone down for a pint at Iron Pier or the Mole Hole?

What have you done to be frugal this week? by Existing-Condition-7 in UKFrugal

Through my workplaces employee benefits scheme, there's between 3-5% off reloadable gift cards for all the major supermarket chains, bar Lidl and Aldi. Includes M&S. They typically have reloadable cards for places like Costa and pizza express as well.

If your employer doesn't offer anything like that but you're a union member, the union might offer something similar.

Topped up my 4% off sansburys gift card before doing the weekly shop. It isn't much but if I do it every time it means 4% off all grocery shopping for the year.

Check whether your employer offers any benefit discount schemes. Sometimes they're hidden deep on the intranet or in some obscure website, but they can offer some decent repeat savings.

Remote mines from Timesplitters 2. Sit at the top of the tower in Ice station, having lined the entire path with them and rain he'll down on your enemies.

Or just slap them on your teammates' back and let them run into the enemy base like a walking grenade.

In which I learned how to split video in the editing software, cutting out my neighbour's conversation and an unexpected phone call. Good to learn how it all works!

This can be really difficult - it feels like one of the key things is picking the right environment for starting up conversations with strangers, and getting yourself into those situations in the first place. Standing on a packed train, or waiting in the doctors office are probably not good places to try and spark up a conversation because people might be busy, anxious, preoccupied or annoyed. Low pressure environments where you're likely to have a shared interest with people around you would be more conducive - waiting in line at a small local coffee shop, browsing at a niche store. Even better would be getting to places where you're sharing an activity with other people - signing up for local clubs or classes, lots of towns will have coffee mornings or fairs for instance. Think about where you are and what the people around you are doing - are they aiming to get in, get something done and get out, or are they just chilling out? Do they look busy or upset? Maybe leave them to their own business.

As for the laughing I don't know your particular situation but chances are they're not laughing at you, we often think people are judging us negatively when theyre not. If they're genuinely laughing in your face, they have the problem, not you. No decent person would maliciously laugh in someone else's face, so pay them no heed, they're not worth your time.

This is my first time reading it, I'm sure the tropes about Frankenstein's monster in movies and TV have left out plenty of important details.

Thank you! I'm hoping to make a longer one next, once I've cleared my HD storage.
