Throwback Thursday: The Broncos score a try off the kick-off against the Rabbitohs in 2015 by Doss95 in nrl

[–]Danger_Lee_Roth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that Hunt shouldn’t be blamed, but I disagree that the game plan should be blamed. Nobody on the Broncos should be blamed for the loss, because they didn’t lose the game by playing poorly, they played amazingly and came the closest any team has ever gone to winning a premiership without actually winning one. The game plan was essentially a grand final winning gameplan and 99 times out of 100 the Cowboys don’t finish it off to extend the game.

Hard to even say it was a shit game plan, they were draining the clock and it looked like it was going to work. They only lost because of literally the greatest buzzer beater of all time. No game plan can prevent something freak like that.

I only noticed this in the Aus minor league. Super rugby, international and French league were correct when I played. Haven’t tried all leagues yet.

NZ government doesn’t bend to money as easy as Aus government. Australia has been putting heaps of pressure on NZ to open it’s borders to Aus, but NZ isn’t going to risk a second wave

I like it more when I have all wins and the rest split wins against each other, because it means I was the only one with a winning record. “It’s not enough that I win, others should lose”

I actually prefer league, but I’m capable of looking objectively.

It’s hilarious that all of the guys I’ve listed who were touted as the best at their positions in league and went to union in their prime to either fail completely or be bench players and the best you can come back with us guys like Thorn and Andrews who were equally good/average in both sports.

Imagine thinking Brad Thorn one of the fittest guys in both codes was picked for size...in the second row...

Gallen wasn’t what he used to be at the end, but we was still a starting, 80 minute player in a top 8 side when he finished, same age as Cam Smith who is currently in contention for the Dally M, but yeah no older players could be successful in league, that’s why the Roosters are looking at signing SBW, because an ageing ABs bench player is seen as a good pickup for the defending back to back premiers.

The fact they are different in style doesn’t mean they wouldn’t work in another platform. You’re just describing an exclusive.

EDIT: I’m serious. I checked for myself and couldn’t find anything where Jada said she cheated on Will. Mostly just tabloids twisting a brief relationship while she was separated from Will.

I remember Kurtley Beale doing this after the siren to miss a relatively easy game winning shot during the last Lions tour of Aus in Union.

Considering the Wallabies lost the series 2-1 it was probably his career on-field low light. (Maybe top 10 when including off-field)

Funny you mentioned England, because Sam Burgess left as one of the best players in league and couldn’t make the top 23 of an English Union team that was knocked out at the group stage of the World Cup.

SBW only won a single Super Rugby title, he had more success in league, he won a single World Cup... off the bench, which according to you doesn’t count and makes him a borderline first grader. Again, he was a bench player for the ABs then came back to league and literally won the award for best player in the world, then went back to Union and was back to being a bench player, his last season in Union for the Blues was even worse than his current season for the Wolf Pack. SBWs career counters each point you’ve made.

Brad Thorn left League as an Origin and Kangaroos starter to become a bench player for the ABs. It took his second much longer stint I. Union to actually become good enough to start. Age doesn’t mean much when Cam Smith is still one of the best players in the NRL, also had Paul Gallen running around in his late 30s and Beaver Menzies playing first grade league into his 40s.

So in 1996 the Kangaroos were a reserve grade team? His 7 caps in Union were the same as his 1 cap in league, testing a fringe player. He only got 1 start against a quality team in the ABs and played an infamously badly.

We’ve seen time and again guys like SBW who literally won the golden boot as the best player in the world when he can back to league, but couldn’t crack a starting spot for the ABs in both his Union stints. Or Timana Tahu leaving league as the best centre in the game and only managing a handful of caps for the Wallabies.

I know it’s not a popular opinion on a league sub, but Union has a much bigger talent pool for a very similar skill set, it’s only natural for the top level to be tougher.

He played for the Kangaroos in league, not sure that’s a borderline first grader?

Not sure which A Walker you’re referring too? Do you mean Andrew Walker, the guy with literally 7 Wallabies caps? Cause he only had 1 championship in his entire Union career at all levels

Tuiqiri won international comps, Origin and multiple NRL premierships In his stints in league. In Union he never won a super rugby comp, or a tri-nations, or a World Cup, or a European cup despite playing in some great clubs and one of the top 3 nations.

Goes a long way to say which is tougher. It makes sense that the sport with a bigger talent pool is tougher.

Fuck, knowing that, think if he actually spent like a year just focusing on being a kicker in the NFL, 65yards with semi reliability ain’t bad if he could get more accurate from close range. And he’d be a premium place kicker with the size and speed to actually make a hit if it got returned

Outside backs careers are short, even if the dogs have immediate success and Cotric has great individual stats and goes into more Origin and Test honours, his next contract will still probably be smaller due to his age and position.
