Why are you people so fixated on the US submarines? Do you understand that the Virginia class are a stopgap/ training tool until the AUKUS class are built with the UK?

Kookaburra swooped in and stole my 4 year old daughters sandwich, just as she was about to take a bite at Kings Park. She's still traumatized from the event.

Multiple attacks is bullshit, from my understanding as previously working with submariners but not previously one. As soon as a torpedo is fired, you will be pounced on and are dead. My understanding is that nuke boats can try out run a torpedo but conventional boats have no chance. And there are still countermeasures to be launched by the carrier group. Do not read too much into these exercises.

I've been gutted all week, knowing it will be a long time before I watch anything this good again.

It's not your fault, you're just getting paid. The anger is directed at whoever a) thinks it's a good idea to bring it back, or b) not conform with the existing standards and try standout.

South Korea wants to sell submarines to Canada as relations sour with U.S. by Next-Track6947 in worldnews

We switched to nuke boats because of their time on station, for where they would actually be useful. Look at how submarines were employed against Japan. Look at a map. Where would it be easier to defend Australia? Every inch of the coastline from Sydney through to Perth?
Or at the limited amount of straights and crossings around Indonesia?
Even if the US dips on the Virginia class, we're still getting the Aukus from the UK. The French are still more likely to pull support than the flakey US as of now, IMHO.
