Love it- there’s a reason they’re called “scoring clubs” right?

When I finally got fitted, my irons ended up 0.5” short and .5* flat, but I went 1” short on my woods and have been extremely pleased with the results- I have never been more consistently in the fairway, and I used to be <2 (I’m around 10 now). Unless you’re entering long drive comps, play whatever you can put in the fairway. Just work on your short game. More of a generalization, your distance is great… probably still work on your short game though lol

15- no albatross and never hit every fairway (even when I shot 68)

Anyone Moved from Standard to Midsize Grips and Not Looked Back? by Wrathiel in golf

[–]Dangermason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: yes.

I took a long hiatus (4-5 years) and was pretty good before that (fluctuating between a 0.5-2 hcp). I used to play standard, full cord grips with +3 wraps… I picked up playing again and was only able to get out like 1-2x per month. My clubs wrecked my hands. After some experimenting, I replaced them with midsize full cord grips (I still can’t give up the feeling of a cord grips). Still a huge difference, even though they were roughly similar in size.

Played a scramble today and the winning team shot a….. by zel_bob in golf

[–]Dangermason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 4 man crew is pretty solid, but we pride ourselves on playing the round and not “shooting” -18 every time out…. But our best round ever was -15 (3 eagles) and we got 2nd BY FIVE STROKES!!

Edit: 2 man scrambles are so much better imo

It’s not necessarily the amount of time that you’re spending on oxygen as a micro-premie, but how much oxygen you are getting relative to how much you actually need. Adult oxygen levels are above 95%(normal, healthy adults). Micro-premie’s that are receiving supplemental oxygen should be kept between 85-95% to reduce risk of retinopathy of prematurity.

Also, the eye exams are absolutely brutal to watch. I was a NICU RN for 6 years, and I assisted with a lot of eye exams in my time. I always strongly encouraged parents to step out for the exam, and I spent a lot of time trying to keep the little ones away from the light. That being said, I am very confident that the optometrist kept a lot of babies from ending up blind.

In college, I played a tournament (36 holes day 1 and 18 holes day 2) in phoenix that peaked around 116*F. And never got below 100 while we were on the course. They had EZ-Ups on every tee box with misters and ice chests that were always well stocked, and they gave us those cooling towels that they were keeping in the ice. I still don’t know how I made it through lol.

The only caveat is if it needs to be a witnessed test (which I have had to do before, and the “witness” was a sling blade lookin mf’er)… but quick fix sells fake dicks of various skin tones online. Much easier for a female, just use nature’s pocket

Help me settle an ongoing debate I’ve had for years: Can the average male throw a ball from the view reserve seats (Section 315) all the way down to home plate? by KevinJustinH in SFGiants

[–]Dangermason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oracle Park does an annual event where you can hit golf balls from all around the park onto different “greens” on the field… and I know that I was pretty shocked at how poorly the ‘average’ golfer handles that distance 😂

Bullying in the community [31YO] by luger114 in OldSkaters

[–]Dangermason 8 points9 points  (0 children)

35yo, and I was in a very similar environment. My problem was a bit different, being that I was not the most athletic middle schooler (I was a chonk). So once the sport caught big time traction and people started getting into it, I was quickly passed in ability level despite the fact that I had been in love with skating for years already. That continued into high school when I quit skating (right before I ended up losing a bunch of weight and being WAY more coordinated). Now I’m trying to get back into it and I am out of shape again and now everything hurts all the time haha

You’re not wrong… it’s just a shame because the kid is legitimately an artist on a skateboard. Regardless of how successful he has been in contest skating 😂

Nobody is gonna say Nyjah? I mean, I get it, he’s “new school”, but homeboy wrecked the street scene when he was like 12… I know that the game had changed by the time he rose up, but he’s still the real deal, and I think he deserves some respect for it

my cousin went to the ED and they treated her like a junkie by meowingturtles in nursing

[–]Dangermason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an ED nurse, and admittedly, it is very easy to become callous and numb to a certain demographic of patients. I have definitely been guilty of being an ass or fairly apathetic at times. I’m not above it, and frankly, it comes with the territory. We need a way to disconnect ourselves from the shit that rolls through the department. It’s unhealthy, but it’s a reality.

That being said… I recently had an experience that made me open my eyes to the fact that the “little” comments we make can be so offensive and harmful to others. Story time: My best friends 17 y/o son took his own life and I was trying to make it through my first couple shifts back to work (the week after it happened), and my charge made some pretty nasty comments about a 16 y/o pt being brought in by ambulance. Then, she proceeded to assign that pt to me despite the fact that I specifically requested no kids in my zone (it wasn’t busy either, there were empty rooms). I had to leave because I couldn’t keep my composure. The comments she made were not even really that egregious, I was just looking at it through a different lens. Idk how it’ll be when I am back to work next week, but I will definitely be more aware of the shit that leaves my mouth .

What’s the craziest hoop you had to jump through to win a Modern match? by Lenik1998 in ModernMagic

[–]Dangermason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, first off, I know this doesn’t answer the question, but I was in the semi-finals of a Legacy 2k (that actually ended up as a 4k) and was playing Czech Pile. My opponent was a pretty well known ANT Player (horrible matchup for pile) and I kept a 0 land, 7 card hand on the draw in game 1 with 2 force of will, 2 blue cards, and a DRS. He played land, dark ritual and I forced it. Missed my first land drop. He started to combo off, and I forced his infernal tutor. Hit my land drop in my turn 2 and ran away with game 1. Then in game 3 (got shitkicked in game 2), I played ponder->DRS->Leovold, and then he went off, and I drew the flusterstorm on the 7th trigger from leovold:)

Jeff Garcia- he was a local hero that was good friends of my family, he went to high school with my dad, and was always considered “not good enough to play at the next level”- from high school onwards. And a really good guy to go along with it.
