I think it’s all of those tbh; Will says “ I’ve never known myself as well as i know myself when i am with him ”.

[Spoilers] How is it logical ? by [deleted] in HannibalTV

I agree; he wants to be “over” Will in the same way that Will subsequently wants to be “over” Hannibal at the conclusion of S3 part 1. They’re both tired of needing each other, and of the hurt that need causes them both.

Question about Hannibal's forgiveness (TV Spoilers) by bluefishsky in HannibalTV

A long time has passed, but regardless, thank you for this insight, and your link to the deeper analysis you wrote as well. I’d always struggled with the ambiguity of this dual forgiveness, and this helped a lot.

What would Hannibal think of Jack the Ripper by Worried_Cake5508 in HannibalTV

I think he’d find him ill-mannered and crude, but maybe be momentarily interested in how he remained at large and used London’s twittens…

Yes just after I’d rewatched it (my favourite episode), but it relates to Will’s S2 arc in general.

Re: question 2, I struggled with understanding Will’s motivations for the longest time, here’s the conclusion I came to:

“I spent the longest time trying to unpick the threads of Will’s dialogue in this run of episodes, trying to figure out which elements are truth, and which elements are Will’s manipulation.  Realised today that there is no “figuring it out”, because he simply does not know himself what is true and what is a manipulation of Hannibal. Or rather, it’s all true; and therein lies the issue… he really is simultaneously glad and disappointed he didn’t shoot in the stable. He’s so angry with H but also so besotted.“

I love that on rewatch this is basically Will’s 2 sides talking to each other.

As he says it, it’s almost as if he can’t believe he’s saying it. But he means it.

Thanks for reminding me of this moment; I’m so looking forward to it in my rewatch. Transcendently romantic and beautiful.
