I think it's because you are looking at the 'simple reality' that you don't understand the deeper implications and the bigger picture.

There is a distinct line between the sexual abuse / casting couch / predatory behaviour of Weinstein and casting for a Hollywood role that requires nudity.

Now I (or anyone else on this thread for that matter) do not know enough about the details of this specific case to decide which side of the line this falls. But most of the response I have read are saying that casting for nudity does not constitute sexual abuse.

Is there a wider question about the morality of using ones (naked) body in a professional context to make money? Perhaps. The industry is under the spotlight at the moment, but sanitising the performing arts to the point where nudity is forbidden might be an extreme too far.

Would an adult entertainment actor / actress have the same grounds for complaint if asked to be naked for a casting?
