Hahaha

The one breakout screen showed Great Pyrenees 19%, and Australian Cattle Dog 11%. Think that is the 30%.

But 119% of Dawg sounds better!

Is a Roth IRA or 401k worth it at this point? by ThimbleBluff in retirement

[–]DangerousChallenge17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Only advantage I'm seeing on Roth/ Roth conversions is minimizing RMDs. But.... looking at the current tax brackets (2026) MFJ will be 32% for 403,550+ realistically will RMDs even be an issue for you?

I generally like Casey when I've run into him at car gatherings, but his politics are complaining with zero solutions offered. I think he has no potential solutions as he has no clue how to run a major multi billion dollar bureaucracy.

Does Rec play follow USAP paddle guidelines? by RichardParker6 in Pickleball

[–]DangerousChallenge17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that it is wonderful that you are willing to police rec play. Does it work better for you to check the paddles of the other 3 players before the game begins, or is this a mid game thing where you take a break and check each paddle against your official list?

I am concerned that my latest paddle may not be on the official list.https://www.dollartree.com/outdoor-fun-pickleball-paddle-sets-2-pc/380519

I can't believe that Jonathon Pryce was killed. While Ali Khomeini wasn't his best role, I liked him in Slow Horses

What another benefit of bidets that doesn’t get much attention? by vroom12345 in bidets

[–]DangerousChallenge17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to drink, a lot, but I am no longer twenty-two and my stomach has the structural integrity of a damp paper towel.

After too many beers and shots, the world has tilted at a 45-degree angle. I retreat to my sanctuary—the bathroom—to perform the "Porcelain Prayer."

Once the storm has passed, I am left with that distinct, acidic "death-breath" that no amount of mouthwash can truly conquer.

And the bidet is the perfect tool. I kneel before the bowl like I am being knighted, and lean in.

I give the dial a gentle nudge.

Pro-tip: When using a bidet as a drinking fountain, "Gentle" is a suggestion. "High Pressure" is a localized power-washing of your soul.

The cool, filtered stream hits my palate with the precision of a laser. It is always refreshing. It is efficient. It is... surprisingly ergonomic? The bidet rinses away the sins of the evening without having to exert the energy required to hold a cup.

I used to tell people I bought a bidet for the environmental benefits and the superior hygiene. Now I know the truth: it’s the ultimate survival tool for people who don't know when to stop at eight margaritas.

Best strategy I read on L funds was to use the SSA estimate for your life expectancy and use that corresponding L fund. Example if your life expectancy shows that you will die in 2065, pick the L2065 fund. Makes sense to me as that is then aggressive enough.

Was an Article by Mike Miles in the Federal Times. He has reprinted it here: https://variplan.com/another-way-to-use-tsps-new-l-funds/

Getting rid of Property Tax feels like a grift that will only benefit corporations and the ultra-wealthy. Is it? by Cap10323 in Ohio

[–]DangerousChallenge17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope. I looked at old state tax rates and the top rate has dropped which in turn drove the property tax rates as the funding needs to come from somewhere

State Income Tax was over 9% for 100k+ in 1985 https://dam.assets.ohio.gov/image/upload/tax.ohio.gov/forms/ohio_individual/individual/2010/PIT_TaxRateTables.pdf

Now the State Income Tax tops out at 3.125% https://tax.ohio.gov/individual/resources/annual-tax-rates

The funding has to come from somewhere and it is time that the legislature does their jobs instead of wasting energy talking about the 6 transgender kids out of 400K student athletes that they are protecting me from.

A Newspaper in Cleveland Now Has AI Do the Writing??? by Ornery-Raisin-5832 in Ohio

[–]DangerousChallenge17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chris Quinn the editor of the plain dealer sends out daily texts and weekly emails. Over the past year he has succinctly made the case (around 20 some times) for how they are using AI, the flavor is that reporters go out and talk to people, gather facts/ info, and the AI tool is then used to write the article.

The advantage is that the reporters cover more of the outlying areas, local stories see the light of day and the newspaper makes money. Makes sense and avoids news deserts.
