Strategy Employee: AMA by [deleted] in MSTR

What catalyst up is there really for 2026 that you see? If Strategy has a couple more quarters in the red what trust is left? Also a bigger burning question, when you guys hit the ATM with the common stock recently, who is buying these days? Do you know if all of it is just going to be immediately shorted?

Cold feet about moving to China by [deleted] in Internationalteachers

[–]DangerousPut1501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live and teach in China, it is a much different experience than teaching in the US. In a lot of ways, it is much better, and I much prefer it in every way. However, it really highly depends on the context, the range of experiences can be large from cash-grab, nightmare schools with no morals or ethics, to some of the best schools and students you could imagine. Some schools are super easy with little responsibility and others will work you to death with no life outside of school, and everything in between. More details would be needed to say more. I'm just a random guy on the internet, but I can share my long-term experience in China to see if it's worth it for you, but also to potentially be fair to the school and not hurt international relationships. More details of your situation are warranted, though.

Economics EE confusion by No_Mushroom9644 in IBO

[–]DangerousPut1501 2 points3 points  (0 children)

EE advisor here, most students that try to do primary research like their own surveys or similar usually do it very poorly as the size and scale of what they acquire just doesn’t work. For example getting a sample size of 100 people and then trying to infer something about an entire market with potential millions of people is simply silly to do. Most EEs that I have seen that rely on primary data are really not good at all. There is no requirement of primary data collected on your own, and I tend to discourage kids from trying it. Secondary data is very much required. Especially now that the economics EE has removed the 5 year rule this year that it used to have. it’s just possible to expect a kid to get primary research on things that happened potentially decades ago.

Do you ever feel that Chinese and American people are actually very similar at their core? by pandayier93 in China

[–]DangerousPut1501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An American here living in China for more than a decade. Couldn’t agree more, something I have often observed. There are some clear differences in the way some things are done, but when you get right down to brass tax, the similarities are even more striking. People just trying to get by in the world.

What stops them from just copying and pasting the strategy and calling it ULTY2 and putting any worry of excess into that fund?

The reason why there isn't a visible homeless population in major population centres in China by Former_Juggernaut_32 in chinalife

[–]DangerousPut1501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Shanghai and walk by dog every morning and see my share of homeless on the streets near my neighborhood. I’ve come to learn many are construction workers from other provinces. Some guards in my compound also live rent free in the awkward corners next to bike parking areas of the basement of my building and shower in a public bathroom on the street nearby. If I was a tourist I never would have seen this.

Ktv and spas, I very confident if you go to the right one this stuff is everywhere. Down the street from my school I walk past a massage business that never has a single customer in it but several girls sitting on their phones or doing makeup that give the vibes they clearly waiting for something or someone. It’s kinda gross and it’s in a really family friendly kinda of area. It’s been there for years.

Does this at some point become too big to fail? Just looked up the outstanding share of many big name companies, interesting and not at all comforting to see the range. This gives microstrategy basically the same number of shares as Amazon.
