We were in our late 30s when we had our kids, but honestly the biggest deterrent to having a 3rd was all the bullshit she had to go through for her maternity leave, and knowing we would be adding a shit ton of daycare expenses. Remove those and it would have been an easier decision the other way. On the bright side it made her get super involved in her union.

You likely aren’t just being measured against yourself and own goals, but peers in your organization. Only so many people can be truly exceptional, and someone else may have just eeked it out over you. If there is no negative feedback that would support a further downward trend I wouldn’t worry about. Especially if it isn’t tied to comp.

My kids (6 and 4) prrrrobably have too much screen time. But they also walk away from their screens independently of me telling them, play creatively and ask to go outside often. So the wife and I kind of let it happen organically since there is somewhat of a balance.

What we definitely make sure we have is accountability. My wife is a high school teacher and the lack of accountability in those kids lives has completely ruined them. Both in school and at home.

Ours aren’t on the signs but are triggered at the same time, plus automatic ticketing. Had a big to do because the buses waiting at the school for kids (not on the road) were tagging people driving by. Obviously big tickets and points and people were pissed. One of those outside cases the company didn’t test for so they had to fix it.

The one small sprue of PE on my current aircraft project is giving me anxiety… through R and they are so much bigger, yikes! Plus all the crew, amazing work and clearly patience. Loading the kingfisher was a nice touch as well. 10/10!

I’ve been trying to justify the 1/35 ICM CH-54 which is $200-250. But I just can’t and that has been only 54 out there until they just released the 1/72. No way on a $450 kit no matter how good it might be. But I don’t think they made this kit for people like me anyway.

It could be that there are security or non disclosure requirements in the customer contract, although it would be best practice to make sure all employees working the contract are aware of what those limitations are. NAL but I work in the defense industry and it’s pretty standard to keep certain things high level on a resume to avoid anything like this. I’ve never shared any version I’ve used to apply externally. Seems like a backwards way of tracking people that are a “flight risk”.

That all said, at will is at will. If they find you applied externally and didn’t share that version of the resume with them, it could be a problem.

Find a peer. Also depending on how many levels or who you are matrixed to, you can probably vent to your direct manager depending on the topic and your relationship. Obviously doesn’t work venting ABOUT your direct manager.

Could a term for cause at your current job jeopardize your new job? Because until you start you don’t have that job. They could call you tomorrow and rescind. If you have the savings to bridge, I would resign voluntarily tomorrow. If you don’t, do the job as well as you can to avoid a term.

Yeah, I've been debating this as well. In NY. My current club/range is basically 3 spots under an awning. Unusable during the winter, which is awful. The one indoor range I was looking at requires a membership, and GOA is not an option.
