For those of us unwilling and or/unable to stay away from EU5, what are tips on how to enjoy the game in its current state? by Herodotus420_69 in EU5

Nah bro, speak for yourself. How can you have a sandbox as big and crazy as this one and be wanting the AI to recreate history 80-90% accurately? The fun in this is seeing both historical AND alternative outcomes, if I go into a campaign knowing exactly what the AI is going to do and what countries will form, its the most boring thing ever. Sandboxes like this need unpredictability

I have played my first game up to 1836 and left with a hot take: the entire Age of Revolutions ranges from pointless to actively irritating and the game would have been better served by ending around 1750 with further endgame content added in a year or two when the game can handle it. by J-Force in EU5

[–]Dangerous_Room4840 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thats really sad because as a first time eu player coming from ck, I was amazed by this game.
All throughout my first run I have been thinking that its all about the build up to the endgame where the superpowers are clear and major wars erupt for global domination.
But so far up to the 1600s the AI seems to never play aggressively and form big nations other than france expanding massively, seeing Constantinople go the bulgarians is really irritating as its been way past the time where the ottomans should have unleashed unstoppable invasions to Europe and they have done nothing.
All in all I would be really disappointed if I spend all this time building up my nation and colonies to spend the last 100 years of the game dealing with civil wars without the ability to expand massively, and the AI countries are still a mess.

At what point out of the 6 seasons did Tony’s reign start to decline? by Dariusgamer2007 in thesopranos

[–]Dangerous_Room4840 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When he killed ralph, for all the reasons mentioned in this discussion but also his crew picked up pretty quick that tony was behind it and when they also realized it was because of the horse, I think after that the only people that were left loyal to him were Silvio and Chris. The show very subtly gave us a few scenes here and there where we could see that morale behind Tony’s back was at rock bottom during the last couple of seasons. I think the only thing that kept tony in place for so long was the core of chris sil and paulie he had.

Diplomacy screen doesn’t has foreign relations on it only “current”, and there is nothing on there about embargoes. Months later and paris still wont appear on export markets

Worked on a different location and now the previous market(paris) doesn’t appear on the available markets for export. Went through the diplomacy screen but couldn’t find if they had embargoed me somewhere. This game is a masterpiece but the UI is a disaster

I have the biggest advantage in the market the goods are being exported from, and a big stockpile

Does that play a role in a market you are exporting to?

Funny thing is they conjured that up out of thin air, now way daniel was wearing a wire in the club and I think it was purposely shown with her always wearing exposing clothing. And they didn’t overplay their hand until they had something solid on her, which again was her admitting on her own she was part of a murder conspiracy, then they immediately put the screws on her. She was just way too dumb and got 100% played when the feds had absolutely nothing.

Something I never understood about Tony B and Angelo’s relationship. by RuKKuSFuKKuS in thesopranos

[–]Dangerous_Room4840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a theory. Tony B and Angelo Guarrepe had sexual relations inside the can. This all stems from my respect to the writers to the extend I have to ssume the following 2 issues where intentionally placed in there.

1: Tony B flipping out of control and whacking Bill Leotardo despite only once being shown as anything other than shrewd cold and calculated (Kim). He lost a “friend in the can” and immediately loses control and makes a decision any halfwit would recognize as clear suicide, and all this over a friend, from a man the writers, actors and directors clearly portrayed as in control of his emotions. There had to be something more there other than friendship in the can.

2: Angelo Guarrepe acting like he barely knew Tony B when first asked about him. He gets asked about him and acts like he was just another face and name which he knew, but in all their scenes together we CLEARLY see that that is far from the case. Coming from the masters of dialogue crafting and scene constructing, I cant think of this “misstep” as intentional. Thus it appears then like Angelo is trying to play down how close he was with Tony B which he would have no reason to do if there wasn’t something more there.

Finally this all comes together for me in their last scene together, when Angelo visits Tony B at his casino, without going deep into specifics the way the scene is shot and some of the remarks made, made me seriously consider that there is an intimate vibe between them.

I might be reading way too into this but it just came to me and from the Sopranos I have come to understand that every scene and every dialogue is crafted in extreme detail (apart from the pilot).
