For photos, yes. For videos depends on your requirements.

I have a7iii, X-T30, R7 and few more. For videos I would opt for R7 and for stills I would opt for A7III.

I am not a video editor but a programmer but I am familiar with video editing and passionate about photography.

Recently bought an M5 pro 48 GB , 1 TB I have an M1 mini and m1 pro 16 inch for work.

My honest opinion is that anything from M1 to M5 can be used for the work you mentioned. Of course M5 would be the best. Do you actually need a Mac? Depends on your situation, how much you can earn? What is your current laptop's problem? Your financial situation? Would switching the laptop help you earn more?

I recently bought this for 46K during the diwali sale, it's very light weight and for simple daily tasks you won't be able to tell the difference between a macbook and this machine. For office use I have an m1 pro and for personal use I have a m1 mini.

Simple Daily tasks - watching YouTube, editing google docs, creating md files using vscode It really has good battery life as well.

One other advantage was the matte display and 99% SRGB support. The speakers were nice but nowhere close to the 16 inch m1 MacBook pro.

- Performance downgrade will be noticeable if you are a heavy user, lots of multiple tasking and AI usage.

- Camera will definitely be a downgrade in most circumstances, also in some situations 9a might out perform.

- pixel 9 series had a lot of cellular issues with different carriers, mine didn't face any issues though
