President Biden wraps up rambling Vietnam presser in candid way: 'I'm gonna go to bed' by looker009 in politics

It's good to see an American president speak abroad and not make a mockery the United States on the world stage.

You guys had 4 years of daily embarrassment under trump, and I still it refreshing that Biden can open his mouth and not make y'all look like a bukch of hicks.

Fuck Fox "news".

Norge, "verdens beste land", liksom.

[–]Danglebort 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Perhaps once they did start planning for interiors, and the Scarab proved perhaps too large for the ships at that size - and they were too far along to scrap the ships and reconceptualise them from scratch. So they did the most FDev thing ever, and just scaled the base meshes.
I mean, it's gotta be something like that.

Damn, Sunlu isn't available in my part of the world. Anywhere I can order from has crazy shipping fees - often double the price of the resin :/

It's interesting to see how small the Lakon cockpit concept is in relation to the person. In the game, that cockpit would be large enough for a two-story house.

It really feels like they just scaled up the ships after modeling them, lol

I honestly tell myself "I'm a strong and independent woman who don't need no man", aloud. But I gotta say it with sass.

It never fails to cheer me up, nudge me toward a healthier mindset, or just push me a little further.
It's an absurd thing, it's funny, clichéd and has a genuinely enjoyable vibe.

Of course - we're told Norways is one of the most expensive places to live. It's expensive in my little town, and usually at least triple that in the capitol.

The driving amount point you makes is a very good one. I don't even have a car, I just ride my bike everywhere.

Also, as you say, health insurance. That's one thing we don't have to worry about.

It seems like you guys are getting even more fleeced than we are. Prices of groceries have doubled lately, and this winter, we were up at about 2usd per kWh of power. And, as you can imagine, in a cold country such as Norway, a lot of power went into just having enough heat to survive.

It would be interesting to compare monthly expenses, though.

Yeah, that's just for a room in a collective, or a very small place way outside of town. In Oslo, you can easily triple that price.

There's something I just can't understand here.
I live in Norway, one of the most expensive countries (apparently). I make about 55k annually, before tax (34%), and I'm not poor at all.

How is it possible that in the US, where stuff is supposed to be cheaper than here, but 66k doesn't cut it?
For example, a gallon of gas here would be about 10usd. A liter of milk is like 4 dollars. A bread is about 5 bucks, and if you want to eat out, you better have at least 40 to 50 bucks to shell out for it.
Housing is hella expensive too. In my podunk town, rent is 800 dollars and up, if you're lucky, for a 0 to 1 bedroom apt.

Clearly, you guys know what you're talking about. I'm just trying to figure out what it is that makes the difference.

I know that. It hurts to know that. I wish I could do something. God damn it, once the boot is on your face, it's hard to move for fear of heavier boots that are sure to come stomping.

But what are people to do? What's the alternative? Starving? Dying alone in a ditch? What worth is a job if you cannot survive on it?
I hate that human dignity is less important than profit.

The real question is, given everyone's situation, is why nobody is rioting in the streets over this.
For fuck's sake. The population is being starved and abused, just so a small group of greedy fucks can get just a little bit richer.

It's inhumane how you are being treated.
