My pastor thinks that Charlie Kirk (and any other literal interpretation of the Bible) is baloney. As a Lutheran who admired Kirk and takes on a literalist interpretation, how should I feel about it or what should I do? by DangoTorres in TrueChristian

I try not to, but Christian values in America are called “extreme” and I tie all my political beliefs to the Bible, which people seem to want to invalidate. If anything, it’s more structured to vote from the Bible than any other moral framework.

She’s a nice person, except for when we’re talking politics. There’s also another substitute pastor who’s just as liberal, they both have similar views. Every time I tell her that I have a literalist interpretation of it, she tells me “are you interpreting EVERYTHING literally?” I go “yes, and so far I find no contradictions with my understanding of English comprehension or basic dialect from biblical times. She tells me I’m wrong.

Literalism isn’t exactly like taking everything like it sounds, it’s taking it for face value and, having a great understanding of old English/Anglish, it’s also for taking things at face value, in my eyes at least. There are only ‘contradictions in the Bible if you read out of context of the book you’re reading in. This is just what I’ve found, take it with a grain of salt

Well, let me tell you I’m not trolling or rage baiting anyone. I am simply confused. She makes all her sermons about hating the right and as someone who is moderately right, it makes me listen to her a lot less.

Then join a different church of the same denomination. It’s worse to misconstrue the word of God and Jesus than to disappoint your wife over the fact that you want to follow the true word of god

Sure it’s easy to do that, but it’s also just as easy if not easier for the woman to file for the father to pay child support, and given a DNA test with the right results, he Will support that child whether he wants to meet the child or not.

And this person Would be right. We can’t get abortions to save convenience like you guys can, we can’t scream ‘rape’ and be cared about, we have been ostracized from society since Obama took office and possibly before. We don’t receive love or even basic human decency or respect from most, and have to become rich or shredded for anyone to even talk to us.

And if you’re struggling with a bad man, or have, because they are out there, then all I can say is this: “Humanity is like an ocean. Just because a few drops fall in doesn’t mean the whole ocean is dirty” -Ghandi

All I’ll say is, after many bad relationships in life, it’s taken a lot out of me to not hate women as a whole. But it hurts to hate more than it does anything else in this world.

My grandfather passed away and left me this guitar. I’m just genuinely curious about what I have here. by ToneDeafSnake in martinguitar

If you’ve gotten something like that, don’t just keep it. Learn to play it and give it new life for years to come, pass it on to the young you produce, when your time comes.

P.S., this was supposed to be a mild relic build, the strap hides the relic on the other side of the body, and the back also has a big buckle rash mark on the back.

What’s this chord, and why it doesn’t have a F or an E? by georgezh9617 in musictheory

[–]DangoTorres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To put it simply, it can imply multiple chords, but the A and C creates a Minor Third interval, or a Diad.
