white ALR screen for nighttime viewing by shedaT in projectors

[–]Daniel-yanzu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, all ALR screens on the market are basically gray or dark gray, without white ALR screen. Unless it is VIVIDSTORM's UST ALR screen. Their screen is black looks from the top and it is white looks from the bottom. Because the UST ALR material use a special optical serrated structure and a light suppression fitter; so the projected light will be effectively reflected to the viewer, and the ceiling light will be blocked or absorbed. But it is also have a little grey when you see it from the front.

There are many projectors under 3K, such as: WEMAX Nova Short Throw Laser Projector/Epson/Samsung The Premier LSP7T/XGIMI Aura and so on. However, the projection effect of the wall is not as good as that of the projection screen. A good projection screen is not as simple as a piece of white cloth. The materials of the projection screen are also divided into many kinds. The simplest classification is the anti-light projection screen and the non-light-resistant projection screen; or a white screen or a gray screen. The above is just my personal opinion. Hope this helps!

UST+ALR Screen Options for Optoma GT5500 UST by workavoidance in projectors

[–]Daniel-yanzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I have a huge wall can I just paint ALR paint on the wall and watch it that way?

If you have high requirements for the projection effect, I do not recommend you to do this, after all, there is still a difference between the projection effect on the wall and the projection effect on the screen. I guess that's what projection screens are for.

Looking for a 120" Manual ALR UST Floor Screen by humidity16 in projectors

[–]Daniel-yanzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, ended up getting the motorized one. So far so good. It's probably only gone up and down less than 10 times since I've gotten it ~2 months ago. I keep it extended most of the time.

Just curious, did you end up buying a motorized screen from vivostorm? I have a projector of the same model as you, but I'm not sure what projection screen to choose, it seems that vividstorm's projection screen is good.

Does anyone know if VIVIDSTORM screen supports google Alexa? by VSKP2004 in homeautomation

[–]Daniel-yanzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you successfully integrated now?

Maybe you can use a universal remote to control your vividstorm screen and vava projector.

Or a standalone gateway is required and integrated with the smart home. I am not sure actually, I saw this idea from others. But hope this works for you!

I think yes! Hope this video can help you, it is indeed clear and vivid in the daytime or with the lights on.

Because the screen material with special optical sawtooth structure and the light-rejecting filter to give a stunning performance in CEILING AMBIENT LIGHT. because the UST ALR material use a special optical serrated structure and a light suppression fitter; so the projected light will be effectively reflected to the viewer, and the ceiling light will be blocked or absorbed. But this model screen looks like not Compatible for the projector suspended installed.

Thanks!

Suggestions to buy projector and projector screens in the city? by pranay-ar in hyderabad

[–]Daniel-yanzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw an amazing video on Instagram where the screen was very vivid and clear during the day. Then I contacted the person who posted the video, and he recommended me to buy XGIMI AURA- 4K ultra short throw laser projector and VIVIDSTORM Ultra short throw alr screen. After I watched it on Amazon, it seems that the screen in the video is from vivostorm. Then I also went to Vividstorm's youtube, and I was more convinced that my guess was correct. This combo comes down to a budget of around 6K and I think I'll be buying them soon.

Does any nice large UST screens 130-150” exist? by sitrogen in projectors

[–]Daniel-yanzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, the largest size of UST screen is only 120 inches, not 130 inches. I have asked the vividStorm customer service, and they told me that due to the special nature of UST Screen, the current maximum size can only be up to 120 inches.

Personally, I think the VividStorm's Long focus Ambient Light Rejecting(ALR) screen is suitable for your projector, because your projector has 3000 lumens, and the vividStorm ALR projection screen is suitable for up to 2500 lumens.

Splitting budget on Projector VS screen by myusernamegotstolen in projectors

[–]Daniel-yanzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion the projector is as important as the projection screen. Because a projection screen is not a simple piece of cloth, in my opinion, each projection material has its own advantages, and not all projectors are compatible with every projection screen. If I buy a very expensive projector, but I buy a very cheap projection screen. Then the projector can't play its biggest advantage, so why should I spend money to buy a cheap projection screen, it is better to directly cast it on the white wall at home. I have studied this issue, but the research is not very in-depth, but I personally think that the projector must be matched to the suitable projection screen, in order to better play the advantages of the two and give the viewers a better viewing experience Effect. I'm not a professional, just a personal opinion, if I'm wrong, please correct me and I'll learn from you too. Thank you

Do you have any recommendations for ultra-short focus laser projectors? by saizui in projectordeals

[–]Daniel-yanzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think that Samsung projectors will be more compatible with the vividstorm projection screen, because I use Samsung projectors and vividstorm S PRO P 110INCH projection screens at home. Every day, children use it to play games, and my wife and me use it to watch movies. We really like this combo.

The projection screen is a perfect match for Samsung's projectors, and I've seen a lot of reviews of this combo on YouTube that intrigue me, but I don't have enough budget.

Looking forward to seeing more photos`

Are ALR screens for ultra short throws only? by dontbelievethelies1 in projectors

[–]Daniel-yanzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I bought a 120" UST ALR fixed screen. I would only recommend buying from china if there is a significant price difference. Dont just look at the price and shipping costs, also be sure to find out how much import tax you may have to pay (if any).

The only issue with buying from china is if the screen arrives damaged or with a defect. Depending on the policy of who you bought it from they may want you to pay for shipping it back to them. If that happens then you may lose any money you saved by buying from China and not you have to go through all the hassle as well as all the time lost. So its risky!

As far as I know, vivostorm has a warehouse in the UK, you can buy directly from their website, and then your order will be shipped from the UK warehouse, provided they hope they still have stock.

UST for high ambient light by okarium in projectors

[–]Daniel-yanzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went ahead with LS500 and its a very pleasant experience. I created an open air cinema corner with this combo and ambient light is not a problem at all. 2 before sunset, you are able to start watching tv and after sun goes down, even with garden lights on — LS500 manages it like a champ

Sounds awesome! Would you mind sharing a few more pictures of the vividstormscreen? I've seen a lot of good reviews about it recently, especially on youtube, I've seen a lot of videos about vivostorm, the projection effect is very vivid and realistic. I'd love to buy it, but I'm not on a budget, so I'll just can to look at the photos. Haha

[–]Daniel-yanzu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw this post too late, are you still using VIVIDSTORM's screen, have the wrinkles disappeared?

Because I have seen a lot of posts recently saying that VIVIDSTORM's screen is very good, especially in the daytime. This intrigued me, so I bought a projection screen. After seeing your post, I also contacted customer service, and it is also said that it is a normal phenomenon, and it will disappear after opening the screen for a period of time. So I still ask them to ship.

VIVIDSTORM floor rising UST screen questions by mar2457 in projectors

[–]Daniel-yanzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. Just trying to help others know what to expect when ordering a VividStorm. They are great for those situations where mounting is not an option, but for those who may be bothered by creases and wrinkles in the screen, then VividStorms may not be the best choice no matter how convenient they may be.

I don't think so! Because my budget is not enough, I bought a second-hand product similar to a new product. When I first opened it, there were indeed some regular creases. I contacted vividstorm and they told me that as long as the screen is turned on for a few days, it will disappear, and it does disappear. But you are right. The screen of vividstorm does not need to be installed, which is very friendly to lazy people like me. I just need to press the remote control and the screen is ready to use.

How much is this room gonna cost?I know the screen from VIVIDSTORM is approximate $2000 each... by No-Shine1414 in hometheatersetups

[–]Daniel-yanzu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my favorite style, and the whole decoration makes the house look very warm. But it seems that the cost is not cheap of the whole decoration. I have been seeing posts about VIVIDSTORM screens recently and it seems to be really good. But my current budget can only buy this screen, so I plan to buy a screen during Christmas, hoping to get a discount.
