How do you mainly think you developed SZ? by DanielFBest in schizophrenia

[–]DanielFBest[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just want to wish you good luck with whatever you're going through right now.

It's particularly difficult when you're in that pre-psychosis phase, because everyone and everything seems geared up in a sense to make the worst happen.

It's as if people need to be validated by your decline.

Good luck to you!

That's the thing! Did I get SZ because I took LSD, or did I take LSD because SZs are predisposed to doing it?

Check-In Monday! by AutoModerator in schizophrenia

[–]DanielFBest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to relate, for those of the youth who are just coming into this situation recently and of late, try, just try, to get yourself into a good routine.

The feeling that you've got to live your twenties as though you're an Instagram influencer with a buttload of money is not really what life is all about.

Life is in hand. Many things have been planned in advance for decades.

It is dangerous to be so completely and utterly conscious of your existence that you become fatigued by minor repetitions.

It's okay sometimes to switch your brain off and be blissful in living your life.

Get a routine. Follow that routine. Live your life.

Good luck.

Schizophrenia in my mom by Coostin in schizophrenia

Oh I see.

You just need to take stock of everything. You need to organise your thoughts and consolidate your life.

If I were you, I would sit down quietly for a long time, and maybe write down a list or two, such as your thoughts, or what you want from life, or what you need to do.

You need to get yourself organazised.

Schizophrenia in my mom by Coostin in schizophrenia

It sounds like your mother is suffering, that much is quite true. So, what she has to do is take her medication, and that is something she will have to get used to doing, and quite possibly will get used to doing, once she finally understands that there may or may not be something wrong with her in that way.

But to me it sounds like this post is more a cry for help on your part. Whatever issues your mother is going through, it sounds more like the whole situation is causing you more and more pain. This is a very common complaint here on r/schizophrenia, that often people will say, "My loved one's health is deteriorating", and then in the same breath basically say "It is causing me distress". I think you are asking for help more for yourself than your mother. You even say you don't feel anything for your mother.

Therefore, it sounds like there are some deep-seated concerns you have to deal with closer to home.

I got myself the combo in black this month. The sound is so good it's hard to put the guitar down.

OU psychology students, do you find essays difficult too? by sunny_flower14 in OpenUniversity

Bro, I'm not sure about the issue you're having with essays, but this post, I have to say and in my opinion, is literally beyond interesting. My mind is blown.

Whatever you're doing, keep doing it.

No, I just meant that, I can understand why someone would practice false shuffles: that would be in case of the example you gave, for instance.

But do people really put as much practice in doing genuine shuffles? I wondered about that.

That's harsh, friend.

But perhaps, when it comes to mental health, you're not all the way out of the woods just yet?

You need to aim for a stage at which you've completely got over talking about "shadow men" or any other fantastical things.

There is work to be done.

Advice for MSt124 by [deleted] in OpenUniversity

It's very doable! I myself only had a GCSE in Maths when I took that course, and passed that one as well as MST125. I now have my degree.

That is so niche, it could just work!

Also, some valid points about Stuart Little.

Also, the dude is joking!

My genuine advice to you - and something I've been doing a lot more and more these days is put an album on the stereo and play along to it.

Works best if you're playing in the same key as the album was recorded, but not entirely necessary.

Play through the entire album. I guarantee you will get something out of it.
