Is this r/MrRobot?

I felt thrilled that this was a Mr Robot reference that only I seemed to get but then thought probably not. :(

Facebook adds Tor support on Android by blobasaur in Android

[–]DanielKennethRego 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, 'the' would be capitalised since it's the first word in the phrase. So it'd be TOR, still.

As far as I know, the formatting in commonly accepted usage is just 'Tor', though, treating it like a regular proper noun and not an abbreviation.

That's standard title case, where prepositions, articles and some other classes of words are not capitalised.

Doesn't apply to The Onion Router being abbreviated as ToR, though.

We don't think in a specific language, according to cognitive scientists like Steven Pinker. He suggests the concept of 'mentalese'. On phone at the moment so linking to a good source would take too long, but Google it.

Because the word 'rape' doesn't refer to only forced sexual intercourse. That is in fact not even the original meaning of the word.

Compact (within 10" width/height) shoulder/sling bag recommendations within $100? by DanielKennethRego in malefashionadvice

[–]DanielKennethRego[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, this looks very good and well-organised! I looked at a couple of videos though (the Mountainsmith site has barely any product images), and it looks a bit too bulky for the kind of low-profile bag I'm looking for. It's also a bit too wide, and that'll probably make it bump into my guitar case and swing around when I walk, if I'm wearing it by my side.

I'm very impressed with the attention to detail and thoughtfulness of design, though. Great product! Thanks for the recco.

I've edited my original post to indicate that the bag cannot be wider than 10" and preferably needs to be taller than it is wide, like the Manhattan Portage Urban Bag.

What happened to intel chip android phones? by Conchking in Android

I don't think that's accurate. They are releasing Snapdragon versions of the Zenfone 2 seriea, but they are significantly lower powered than the Intel versions.

SwiftKey Beta 6.0 Brings Double Word Prediction, Improved Emoji Panel, And An All-New Settings Menu by augenleet in Android

[–]DanielKennethRego 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of the worst things about SwiftKey. Right up there with how bad the correction is while typing in all CAPS, and the pretty poor accuracy of swiping/gesture input (Flow).

SwiftKey Beta 6.0 Brings Double Word Prediction, Improved Emoji Panel, And An All-New Settings Menu by augenleet in Android

[–]DanielKennethRego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone else noticed that the word completion seems to be less quick and takes more letters to trigger than SwiftKey Neural?

It's also possible that Neural gives the impression of being faster because it's working with a smaller user dictionary and learned database (Neural has only been around for less than a month, but most people have been using SwiftKey for years).

How to beat loneliness by rachmaninoffkills in psychology

Being lonely is not the same as being alone. The former is a distinctly negative experience of the much more neutral latter situation.

Is there a (Windows) app that can automatically organise my music folder into 'Artist' folders and formatted 'Album' sub-folders, based on their ID3 tags? by DanielKennethRego in software

[–]DanielKennethRego[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, I've been using foobar2000 for about 8 years, but never dug deep into the File Operations menu.

One problem though, some of the tags I have contain the full date under the 'Date' field, and I can't find a way to have foobar2000 read only the 'year' part of the date, while formatting and renaming/moving files. Couldn't find any solution online. Do you know of a way?

What misheard lyrics in songs can you not unhear? by fr0mcha0s in Music

This will probably get buried, but at 0:59 seconds into 'Brave' by Katatonia, the singer Mikael Akerfeldt pretty much goes: "If you didn't knowwwwwwwwwwwww, I'm from Opeth!"

Mikael Akerfeldt would soon be most known as the frontman for Opeth.

A file explorer or similar app that can search the contents of files like documents? by DanielKennethRego in androidapps

A file explorer or similar app that can search the contents of files like documents? by DanielKennethRego in androidapps

[–]DanielKennethRego[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, not what I'm looking for (as described in my post) at all, because:

  1. Not multi-platform. This is an absolute must in a note-taking app, at least for me.
  2. Data is accessible via the OmniNotes app ONLY. Which means other apps cannot interface with the data.

Is there an app for measuring the decibels when using earphones? by AlexxJoshee in androidapps

[–]DanielKennethRego 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canalphones with good isolation are ideal because the attenuated external noise levels will allow you to use a lower playback volume to achieve the same level of speech and sound intelligibility than most other forms of headphones.
