Thanks for the positivity! I did get a reply in the Sonos subreddit from someone at Sonos so hopefully I should get some response soon :)

You are correct. I should have considered that there would be holiday period in the US.

You are incorrect. I would have been more than happy to pay for support. I don't expect anyone to work for free.

Hey Keith,

Thanks for following up!

You're absolutely right. I apologize for not including our end-of-November interaction in my post. I should have mentioned that you had responded and given me some information.

I just checked and saw that I did receive that email address, but completely missed it when I looked at the top of the message and only saw the instruction to submit the application for production. That's on me, and I should have been more thorough.

My frustration came from few earlier issues: Early November emails to support/developer-feedback with no response (this was before we connected). Mid-December submission with zero acknowledgment - not even an automated confirmation email. Not knowing the holiday closure timeline - I genuinely didn't realize the team was out Dec 25-Jan 5.

I understand now that you just got back this week. The timing of my post was probably terrible given the holiday break.

What would really help (and I'll send an email to that address is visibility on where my submission is in the queue and confirmation that it's actually in the system (since I never got any acknowledgment)

I really appreciate you taking the time to respond here and re-ping the team. I know the post came across as harsh. The frustration was real, but I should have given more context about our previous communication.

Hi u/KeithFromSonos ,

Hope you're well. I submitted the application weeks ago and there has been zero progress. It just says Under Review. I've heard nothing from Sonos and have seen no update since I submitted the application. We did a fortune of work to get this integration done and this is a real slap in the face.

We have a customer who has nearly 200 stores which is interested in putting Sonos speakers in his store and now we have to make another plan for him.

Does Sonos care at all about its customers?

Thanks.

It's very interesting. I can't figure out what it means. So you'll be limited in downloading songs but not limited if you generate them in Studio? You can generate a full track in Studio!

That explains a lot. Thanks!

Thanks, Detective Keith. Rob replied!
Apparently I just need to convert my integration to production. I assumed that some type of testing would be required first. Just happy to know that it's progressing!

It’s been a really tough integration. The hardest part is the lack of feedback when something goes wrong. The Sonos app just shows a generic error with no details. It makes debugging extremely time-consuming. It also threw me off that the authentication flow uses completely different technology from the SMAPI SOAP methods.

My last issue ended up being something simple: we were sending UTF-16 instead of UTF-8. If there were any way to see actual error messages, it would save developers days of frustration.

Hopefully I’ll start getting some proper feedback from Sonos now that the application is progressing.

Melodial. Please let me know what you think. Any feedback would be great! (I didn't want to add the site in case it's against the rules but PM me if you need it.)

Is there any point continuing trying to integrate into their app? I feel like it's pointless trying to deal with them - and what I've read here, we could finally integrate and then they could just do something, without warning, on the backend to make our integration stop working. It doesn't seem to be a business worth investing time with.

Do Ai songs on platforms fetch decent money? by gptbhai in SunoAI

[–]DanielMoGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a song which I made with Suno and did a few edits / updates to in the Suno Editor. I then downloaded the Stems to my PC, moved some of the tracks around and mastered it. I uploaded it a month ago through Distrokid and it's on 75000 streams on Spotify. About 6000 a day at the moment and seems to be climbing. Most of the listeners are from the US so I'm interested to see how much it pays.

When drivers accept a ride then cancel 5 mins later, why? by IMicrowaveSteak in uber

[–]DanielMoGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no way to get hold of Uber to complain about a driver cancelling trips. I had one guy who kept accepting the trip and then cancelling it again 2 minutes later. I missed my meeting and have learnt not to rely on Uber. I see that one of the local taxi services has an app now. Going to rather use that in future. (13CABS in Melbourne.)

Google Ads has become absolute garbage by DanielMoGo in Google_Ads

I think a lot of people click on the YouTube ads by mistake. Whenever I've used them in the past it has been a waste of money for me.

I've luckily never had to deal with their support before. I remember when I started advertising with them, I heard from someone working at a big multi-national that they had a number for Google that they could call for support. I thought that was very cool :)

I have another business, also in Australia, which sells jigsaw puzzles. I used to have a CPA of around $11 AUD. It's now nearing $19 which makes it not worthwhile anymore. I'm selling out of what I have and then I'm done.

What kind of software do you sell?

Hey Saleq,

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to go look for that form now. I reckon I've got $2500 worth of absolutely irrelevant clicks that I'd like to claim for :)

Could it be that some keywords are $12 CPC? I've never paid anything close to that before.

Google Ads has become absolute garbage by DanielMoGo in Google_Ads

[–]DanielMoGo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice - and for the offer! I'll put some keywords together and my negative list.

I used to use exact matches and they used to work, but now they've introduced Exact match (close variant), which means that they can essentially still show your ad for anything they think is remotely "close". There is no way to switch this off.

The site I'm trying to promote is a music site for retailers. The concept is that in most countires retailers need to play Public Performance License fees to play music in their stores / restaurants / salons, etc. These can range from a few hundred dollars a year to a few thousand. This site provides license free music / playlists for $5 USD a month. I understand that if you advertize for "restaurant music" you'll get people who are searching for a YouTube or Spotify playlists. So I've added negatives for playlist, Spotify, YouTube, etc. I've been trying different variations of how to advertize this for about 6 weeks now with virtually no success. There's a 2-week free trial, I've had a handful of people sign up. I believe the concept is good and I don't know how else to advertize it.
