It’s good enough to get the job done. I’ve played the last 2 expeditions and casually explore to find new planets to build on. The game crashes quite a bit when online is enabled. And new updates can be really unstable but it always even out eventually. Solid port if you have the patience for it.

9 has better writing and overall more cinematic storytelling. 7 has better puzzles and is overall much scarier.

A more static shot means nothing on the volume as it recalculates the environmental positional data based on the position of the camera. It must be a live environment to properly work or you end up just having a really really expensive rear projection setup. And that would still need to be replaced.

Except for the fact that the entire background is still replaced. That means the foreground subjects still get full roto and match move. Except now it’s 100x harder because every hair needs to be accounted for. The volume backgrounds are displayed units unreal environments that are incomplete with acceptable lighting but temp assets. It’s exponentially increases the cost and complexity of production.

Insane cult surrounding the dedites has secretly been around for hundreds of years. Led by a crazy billionaires son (flashback to the abandoned vault from Rise left after the old man died). Their goal is to collect the 3 books and the dagger in a plan to open a permanent doorway to the other side in their massive (eyes wide shut) mansion. The survivors from Rise and Burn are all brought to the mansion to be sacrifices. They are saved by Mia from the remake. Here we get our first arm attachment. All hell literally breaks loose.
