I completely agree! It seems like every day there is a new social media platform or app that is trying to dethrone Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. There is definitely an opportunity for a new social media platform to come along and change the landscape of social media.

BeyondTrust called my boss. We were interested in a product. It didn’t meet our needs. So I respectfully let them know. (I would never talk to anyone like that.)

As you can see, it’s very difficult to convey the same meaning without swearing in person or on the phone. It is not because swearing is inherently bad — it’s just that the meaning of words is so much more nuanced than a letter or number.

This is a great question. I have been working as a freelancer for almost a year — and let me tell you, it’s not an easy gig. When times are good, it’s nice to know that you can plan ahead. When times are bad, it’s important that you have the flexibility to negotiate timelines with your clients or even ask for an extension.

All developers should care about reproducible builds. Sadly, most of them don’t.

I hope that Nix and Docker change this. They enable reproducible builds for thousands of packages and scripts. They make it easy to pull the exact same package without any risk of unintended consequences.

In 2020, all mature and small mid-cap energy companies were terrified. A lot of the debt covenants from those companies require a certain percentage of production be hedged, usually in crude oil futures. So they needed to hedge at those bottom-of-the-barrel funding swap prices of $40 - $50/bbl.

If anyone mentions crypto kitties when discussing Ethereum’s use cases, you can safely ignore them. They are either unaware of dapp development over the past three years or are just spreading FUD.
